ONE NIGHT ONLY – QUAD CINEMA – NOVEMBER 14
Very pleased to announce this one-off screening of The Giant at Quad Cinemas, courtesy of Reunion.
We didn’t make this movie intending for it to be seen exclusively in one’s home, nonetheless the pandemic intervened all those years ago and made the planned theatrical release impossible.
If it’s never the right time, then it’s always the wrong time – having said that, please come and see it as we always dreamed you would; hope to see you there (ticket link in bio).
How could I have known?
I can’t even say at this point when this all began, just that it must have been with me since long before that.
I think I was 21 when I was first compelled to express the feeling that would form the core of The Giant, and even now it continues to reveal itself in ways that startle me.
As someone on Letterboxd so astutely observed, “people are going to hate this” – but making The Giant was the privilege of my life. I cannot understate my gratitude to everyone who worked on it, who endured the tempest of the Georgia summer, who rose with the moon and slept with the sun, who gave to this compulsion of mine an artistry and generosity of which I feel so unworthy.
Y’all changed my life, in ways you may never know. And I will forever be grateful to you for that.
All that to say: goodbye, my old friend. Though I suspect you won’t ever really leave me, will you?
