I just watched for the second time a legendary YouTube show on “The Whiskey Throttle” of Bob Hannah’s life and career with David Pingree and Grant Langston. On the show Hannah describes his victory at the 1987 Motocross de Nations racing this bike to win the 125 class for the USA at Unadilla. So I had to share this very special bike, one that holds a great place in motocross history, and one of my favorites that I collected of all time. He agreed to race a 125 only if Suzuki gave him a full factory bike from Europe. Due to the AMA’s production rule in 1986, no factory one off works bikes were allowed in the US. But because it was a European sanctioned race, the rule didn’t apply. Hannah is a motocross legend that helped make the sport what it is today, paved the way for Supercross in stadiums across the country, and a savage in the outdoors!! Too many titles to count and changed the sport! Below are some amazing shots I took of the bike showing how trick the bike was. Magnesium, titanium, aluminum gas tank, works suspension, and cool historical photos of his ride winning ! The pants belong to Mitch Payton in his collection. #unadilla
