Second year student studio portraits ✨ A sneak peak at some of the artwork and artists that will be at this year’s Tribeca Ball! @davidortstudio , NYAA MFA Class of 2026 in Painting David Ort is a multidisciplinary artist who lives in Brooklyn with his wife and two daughters. Before his time at the New York Academy of Art, he attended the Art Students League of New York. Over twenty-five years, David has produced a diverse body of work spanning mediums and scales, from photography and collage to large-scale participatory sculptures and installations. As a return to his primary and longest practice, David is currently at the New York Academy of Art focusing on traditional techniques in mark-making. Working from photographic reference at the intersection of personal and public archive, David is captivated by what he sees in these archives as evidence of the cycles of life and his place in them. Focusing on process and experimentation, he produces his drawings, paintings, and prints with sustained curiosity. What emerges are images of landscapes, animals, and figures with a sense of mystery, discovery, and pattern. David’s work will be on display and available for purchase at this year’s Tribeca Ball on Monday, April 20th. Tickets to Tribeca Ball can be purchased by emailing [email protected] or visiting tribecaball.com #NYAA #NewYorkAcademyofArt #TribecaBall #StudioPhoto #FigurativeArt
