The biggest mindset shift I made, happened around 2021 after I sold my first business (and spent much more time in my own self development) I stopped complaining! I made this a new standard and I held myself accountable on this I had a long hard think about what consumed my energy Now, if something is within my control, I use my skills, experience and contacts to go and do something about it If it’s not in my control, I don’t use any energy on it It’s definitely something i still have to check in on regularly and still have to remind myself on But it’s something that has made a big difference to my life Stop complaining about things around you that are not your business or you can’t control Spend that energy on something that actually matters and you have influence over Watch your life change

Fail, then learn from your mistakes I’ve failed more times than i can count Taking on too much debt in the early days, bringing in the wrong people into key roles, deals falling apart at the final stage We’ve all failed, most of us, including me on many occasions, but that never ever stopped me Just setbacks with an opportunity to learn and sharpen my mindset for the next opportunity Every difficult period built something in me that the good periods never could Resilience isn’t something you’re born with It’s something you build by refusing to stay down The goals i’ve achieved The life i’ve built None of it happened because i avoided failure It happened because I embraced it #entrepreneurlife #businessstrategy #businessgrowth

Their revenue is unpredictable and they can’t control it One month is great The next is a scramble I lived that personally for years and it was painful The shift came when i started locking in revenue to long term contracts with NHS trusts and local authorities Three year minimum, most 5 years Business buyers then see certainty, modelled out over the next three to five years No guessing No hoping Just committed recurring income they could underwrite with confidence That changes everything in a sale process Business buyers, in particular PE don’t pay a premium for potential The amount of times I’ve now been on the buying side and been told next year will be our best yet… without any substantial evidence Buyers pay a premium for predictability The most valuable thing i built into my business wasn’t a product or a team It was revenue certainty Build revenue that a buyer can model with confidence Everything else becomes easier

You know you’re around the right people when things that once felt out of your reach now feel very achievable But first you have to find that right room For most of my career i didn’t know these rooms even existed It wasn’t until i invested in myself Took a course Joined a mastermind Got myself a mentor That a door opened i never knew was there Behind that door was a completely different world This was a world where people were buying businesses instead of building them from scratch Structuring deals instead of grinding for more customers Building wealth strategically instead of hoping organic growth would be enough Then inside that room was another door Behind that one another Each one only visible once you’d walked through the last I discovered M&A because i pushed myself into an unfamiliar room That decision changed everything about what i believed was possible The right room doesn’t just change your thinking It changes your ceiling Find your next room
