Just finished up this Bowie for blade show I call it, "Featherology". All the Damascus is made with feather Damascus except the little Dragon Thunder finial. This is a very special piece of stag, one of the nicest pieces of popcorn stag that I have ever seen and it was given to me by a friend from IG who has followed my work for years and I wanted to do it proud. I just finished this vegetable cleaver it is feather Damascus if you look carefully you can see what I did to achieve the pattern the blade is 5-3/4" x 3-1/2" OAL 11" 75tho at the spine and tappers down to the bottom where it has a small convex at the cutting edge presentation grade koa makes this one of the most beautiful and unique piece of working kitchen art I've made in a while and I did it just to see what the pattern would look like opened up and cleaver is perfect for that. This was a challenge for me as I was learning how to use my sewing machine as I made this I probably leaned a little heavy on the rivets as I'm more comfortable with those than sewing, but | did do a good bit of sewing on this project and I learned a lot. I'm pleased with how it turned out and I am looking forward to my next sewing project I'll probably make a sheath next but on my list of things to try and make is an apron, vest, hat, sandals, purse, wallet each time I make something my confidence grows thanks to @scottschusterphoto for sending me lots of knife roll pics to give me a place to start they really helped. #davidlischknives #davidlisch #artoftheday #artofinstagram #kniferoll
Just finished up this artifact push dagger made a silicon bronze stand for it When I come across a piece like this even before I buy it I'm looking at it to try and see what I might be able to make it into pick this piece up at Blade show last year and I knew the only thing it was really gonna be was a push dagger that made it easy to just follow the vision I had for it. This was my latest project if you watch my story line you saw me working on this it is finished now and I'm happy with how it turned out. It's the first time I've made a set of steak knives. And I wanted to make a box that would keep them safe and make storage easy once I had them fitting in the box nicely I had to come up with a way to keep them secure. This seemed like the perfect opportunity to use my new sewing machine I am still learning how to sew with it but making these leather pillows to hold the knives in place well let's just say it was a confidence builder

Just finished up the C Lock this is my Celtic Mystic matrix pattern. I Really enjoy making these it how’s my interlock construction I put a lot of thought in too get the balance right on these for a Big Knife. It sure feels easy to handle

Well it was a wonderful thanksgiving week as the holiday got closer the river just kept getting nicer and nicer so I spent 2or3 hours on the river every day and made this mash up for your pleasure this morning after my guests left things where perfect i caught silver salmon 3 and 4 for the year two different spots so there is only a week or two left on this run my best year was 5 so I am going to try and break that record I have hooked 5 this year but one got off as soon as he got on but I did get a good look at it
I am so thankful for this life and people I have in it and that I can make a living in this place where I can fish almost every day before I go to work #lifeisgood #thankful
Well that took longer than I expected but it is finished i learned so much from this build and pushed myself to stay focused on it there was a couple times I wanted to but it in the drawer with the other unfinished projects but I didn’t and now it’s finished. Once again a big thanks to my friend @michaelvagnino and my friend Brian @ny_shedantlers could not have done it without them. Still figuring all this stuff out but very excited about the possibility that this brings to my knife making
