Anyone with a home built airplane will tell you that they are never fully ā€œdoneā€. But my Searey is pretty damn close.

I finally made it to Alaska to go heli skiing. Flying a small airplane in the middle of frigid winter to The Last Frontier provided it’s fair share of challenges.

I piled my dog, friends, and ski gear in my plane and flew 2,800 miles from 85° Texas to -15° Alaska to go heli skiing. Hell of an adventure to say the least.

Santa came through with yet another motorized toy, I told him I’d be a good boy and try to stay out of the news this year.

80° air & 48° water made for another epic annual snow ski / water ski day. First time on 2 skis, first dock start, and first beaching attempt. Helluva day.

I had a blast volunteering for the Young Eagles to take kids on their first flight in a small plane. The Young Eagles program pairs pilots who donate their time, money, and airplanes with kids who have a love of aviation. Families drove from hours away, and every kid that attended was able to actually fly an airplane for the first time. This program is important because it gets kids excited about aerospace, many Young Eagles grow up to become pilots, air traffic controllers, mechanics, and engineers.

I really did try my hardest to not crash Lorenzo’s gondola.
