Our RMB Latitudes Art Fair booth has been visualised, planned and measured, and we can't wait to show you what we've been working on. And on exhibition at the fair will be works by contemporary South African artist, Nkhensani Mkhari! Mkhari is a contemporary curator and post-disciplinary artist with a broad practice spanning photography, painting, performance art, sound design, and new media. His artworks function as multimodal material-semiotic metaphors. The artist’s work explores the concept of identity and subjectivity in unique ways, drawing inspiration from bantu-cosmology and a triadic understanding of being and he has been industriously experimenting with printmaking at the David Krut Workshop. Visit the David Krut Arts booth to see how Nkhensani Mkhari challenges epistemic erasure and traditional notions of personhood. Visit us at Latitudes to view Nkhensani Mkhari and other artists' work at: David Krut Arts Booth A8 RMB Latitudes Art Fair Shepstone Gardens, Johannesburg 22 - 24 May, 2026 For more information DM us or email [email protected] #DavidKrutProjects #DavidKrutWorkshop #nkhensanimkhari #RMBlatitudesartfair

As we finalise our exciting booth at RMB Latitudes 2026, we’re proud to be showcasing some of Heidi Fourie’s new work! Fourie uses oil painting to explore the relationship between people and the spaces they occupy, taking inspiration from the medium’s natural tendency to represent organic lines and shapes. Curiosity motivates her practice, as demonstrated by her gestural representation, muted palette, and unique angular perspective. By emphasising the natural world through washed textures and depth, Fourie explores intuition and relativity. The artist studies how the results of figurative representation and the intrinsic qualities of paint are pursued simultaneously, especially in these works where she depicts hidden, sacred scenes refining her balancing act between restraint and excess, between gestural and polished mark-making. Visit us at Latitudes 2026 to view Heidi Fourie and other artist’s work at: David Krut Arts Booth A8 Shepstone Gardens, Johannesburg For more information DM us or email [email protected] #DavidKrutProjects #DavidKrutWorkshop #heidifourie

In preparing for our exciting RMB Latitudes 2026 exhibition, we’re curating recent works by South African artists featured in our booth. Today, we showcase the work of Nthabiseng Boledi Kekana. As an artist and practicing traditional healer, Kekana explores themes of spirituality, mythology, identity, African folktales and the feminine image. Profoundly rooted in and connected with her heritage and guided by emotion and spirituality, her work examines otherworldly ideas and works in a range of mediums, including oil, charcoal, pastels and natural textiles, to express the fluidity of creation. “In my spiritual practice, I’m mindful that our eyes are useless if our minds are blind. We need to go beyond our human capabilities: you can have hands and still those hands are useless if they’re not used from a place of light in service and healing of others”. Visit us at Latitudes 2026 to view Nthabiseng Kekana and other artist’s work at: David Krut Arts Booth 8A Shepstone Gardens, Johannesburg For more information DM us or email [email protected] #DavidKrutProjects #DavidKrutProjects #nthabisengkekana

We’re proudly presenting recent paintings on paper by leading South African artist, Mary Sibande at the 1:54 Contemporary African Art Fair in New York along with other works by accomplished artists including Nthabiseng Kekana, Boemo Diale and Nathaniel Sheppard III. In collaboration kumalo | turpin Gallery, we’re also presenting works on paper by William Kentridge, Stephen Langa, Lusanda Ndita, Blessing Ngobeni, Nkhensani Mkhari and Phumulani Ntuli at the fair’s Special Installation wall. Sibande’s recent work marks a shift toward a new softness: an imagined space of leisure articulated through painterly marks and gestures created through the monotype process. Produced in collaboration with the David Krut Workshop in Johannesburg, these painterly works on paper place the artist’s alter ego, Sophie, within a more intimate register. The images carry the sensibility of a postcard—something held, kept, and returned to; a quiet record of mood, place, and experience that lingers in memory. We're proud of our printmaking association with South African artist, Anna van der Ploeg; with whom our printmakers have collaborated on numerous occasions. The artist works in painting, printmaking and sculpture as she searches for new metaphors to convey insights into our common assemblies, to find rhythms in the motion of social, artistic and intellectual contexts. As an avid reader and an occasional writer of poetry and short stories, van der Ploeg has a sharp interest in language, as intimated by her titles. For her, writing runs parallel to making, and titles precede, or prompt, the actual artwork. Featured here are examples from the artist’s All the Bugs in my Garden editioned series which are available at: David Krut Arts 151 Jan Smuts Avenue Parkwood, Johannesburg #DavidKrutProjects #DavidKrutWorkshop #annavanderploeg

We're pleased to announce that David Krut Arts, New York is participating in the inaugural Conductor Fair, currently on at Powerhouse Arts, New York until 3 May 2026. The Fair focuses on the Global Majority and Indigenous nations around the globe, prioritising access and inclusivity with the goal of fostering cultural exchange and expanding opportunities to develop markets in New York. At this year’s Conductor Fair, we’re showcasing works from a new series by Mary Sibande, titled “A View Through the Peephole.” In these painterly monotypes, the artist situates her alter ego – Sophie - within an intimate register: dreaming, idling, and inhabiting moments of everyday joy long denied to Black women under apartheid. The works propose rest and imagination not as indulgences, but as radical assertions of the right to simply exist. To view more of Mary Sibande’s work in Johannesburg, visit us at: David Krut Arts 151 Jan Smuts Avenue Parkwood, Johannesburg #MarySibande #DavidKrutProjects #DavidKrutWorkshop #davidkrutnewyork
