I’m excited to reveal the official trailer of “MONTEGELATO”. The film is in competition at 78th Mostra Internazionale d’Arte Cinematografica in the Venice VR Expanded 2021 section and will be shown at the Palazzo del Casinò (Lido di Venezia) and at 14 satellite venues in 10 different countries.

It’s been 10 years since the 14th International Architecture Exhibition of the Venice Biennale “Fundamentals”, 10 years since the opening of the “Elements of Architecture” exhibition, 10 years since the first screening of “Elements,” my first montage film, my debut as a filmmaker and video artist.
I learned a lot from “Elements,” a crazy project made by watching dozens of films every day for six months, cutting and cataloging thousands of clips and completed only a few hours before the opening. I am still grateful to Koolhaas and OMA for giving me that huge opportunity, trusting my work without any interference, in total creative freedom. A very rare working condition.
In the past 10 years « Elements” toured the world, from north to south, from west to east. I still remember with much excitement the outdoor screening on the marble walls of Mies van der Rohe’s Barcelona Pavilion or the special screening at the Milano Film Festival in my first solo retrospective.
Today I can’t help but notice and catalog doors, windows, stairs and other architectural elements in the films I watch. For the past few months I have been working on a restored and expanded version of the film, a director’s cut with some scenes excluded from the first cut and others found in the past years.
I hope to finish and show it soon.
