Proof of Life 1H25 edition (aka January-June dump) Highlights include: turning 45 while out on a four-city tour of Mexico, flipping the bird to my +1 in life on a boat (because love is patient, kind and includes fingers if it’s real), heading out to California on a three-city tour for a wedding and catch ups with extended chosen family, going to the gym to preserve my sanity (excuse my beauty), popping my gay camping cherry, being out and about in NYC with my +1 and local extended chosen family (mirror selfies included) culminating in my greatest accomplishment - completing my sophomore year of love with @automatixx . Te amo always, all ways (our anniversary is on Juneteenth, totally coincidental). There may be a part two to this, we’ll see. Until we meet on the grid again, in the great words of the poet laureate Julie Chen-Moonves: “love one another”.

As it’s my birthday week (b-day is 2/22, cash is king lol), I can’t help but to wax sentimental a bit about this thing called life. This past year for me was wild, having encountered major wins and losses. Things I hadn’t experienced in ages came back to surface. It was tough to navigate. Towards the end of last summer, I sought the resources needed to fight the good fight, and I’m proud to say now that I absolutely ate, no crumbs left (as the modern adage goes). I’m on the other side of it all now, and frankly better, stronger for it. The holy trifecta (in my experience): listen with open mind, put the work in, give yourself grace while being kind as you can all around. In the crazier times we are living in as of late, we need each other. Generally speaking, we don’t know what other people are dealing with beneath the surface. Everyone runs at different speeds, for different motives, in different contexts. The key to it all is aligning with those who run and operate in a similar fashion to you, or those that you can learn from in the interest of your wellness and optimization of self. You are needed as much as others need you. Build with the like-minded, stay close, and stay present with your circle of community. Stand up against what does not align with your wellness, in whatever forms that may take. This is a shoutout to my community in its various degrees, and not comprehensive by any means. Special shoutout to @automatixx who was there along the path the whole time always, all ways. Te amo, my favorite bundle of sticks. Truth be told, I have loved @automatixx since pretty much the start. But, as love should, it needed to breathe, grow and evolve. I’d say we got to where we are now the right way, part by design, part by adventure and mostly through honest communication which begets implicit trust. Happy anniversary bubba. My dearest, sweetest Victor … I’m currently on my way to send you off from this plane of existence. Words continually escape me, but I’m chasing them … I’m vacillating between shock, anger and sorrow. I was supposed to see you this weekend and revel in the holiday edition of “dia de felicidad” with the crew. I’m so glad you all FaceTimed me during your last impromptu linkup so I could see your face and hear that resounding “biiiiiitch” one more time before you left this Earth. It’s an honor to be your friend. You are joy, love and selflessness personified. You are one of the greatest men to have walked this Earth - this is not hyperbole, it is canon, it is fact, it is absolute truth. This loss is so heavy, I’m going to miss your physical presence. As I said last night to all at your wake though, energy never dies - it is kinetic, it moves all around us. I firmly believe when we pass from the Earth, our energy dissipates and moves to where and manifests the way it’s needed … I spoke at your wake last night because even though I was at a loss for words, all I heard and felt from you while I was there was “biiiitch, I’m saying one of you better say something” (lol). Energy game still strong even from the heavens huh? I love you brother and I know you’re with us. Officiating yours and Alex’s wedding ceremony forever will remain a life highlight. It also remains the one of the most lit weddings I’ve ever been to because of the collective love and joy that everyone shared that day. Every time we came together, every conversation forever remains a cherished memory. Don’t worry about Alex, he is loved as you are beyond all measure. Towards the start of last summer, I met a Cuban neighbor of mine originally from Miami. We hit it off immediately as friends, became thick as thieves swiftly. These little things called “feelings” started popping up, we started dating, the word love was thrown around, and then after a night at the beginning of this summer that will stay etched in my memory for life, we finally made this relationship thing happen … It’s his birthday today, so talk to him nice!
