In March, I sat and listened to members of Bermuda’s Youth Advisory Board speak about their experiences with mental health. What they shared has stayed with me, and it is reflected in the steps we are now taking to better support young people. On Friday, standing with them under Bermuda’s green umbrellas, we reminded Bermuda of something simple: no one should have to face mental health challenges alone. Our young people are speaking, and we have a responsibility to listen and act so they feel supported and heard.

Earlier today at Consensus 2026, I joined a fireside chat with Paul Grewal of Coinbase and made two announcements related to Digital Finance in Bermuda. First, Cabinet has approved a framework to allow the Government of Bermuda to accept and invest in digital assets within a clear regulatory structure. Second, the Government is modernising the existing FinTech Development Fund so it can receive digital asset contributions from industry, alongside Government support, to help grow Bermuda’s on-chain economy and strengthen the local digital finance ecosystem. The goal is to ensure that Bermudians are not just spectators in the future of digital finance, but owners, builders, and active participants

The Confiscated Assets Fund allows us to take resources linked to crime and put them back where they belong in our communities. On Monday, alongside Minister Alexa Lightbourne and parliamentary colleagues, we supported the PHC Drum and Majorette Corps, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, and Teen Services for their work developing young people, preserving culture, and providing vital social services across Bermuda.

This afternoon at L.F. Wade International Airport, I joined officials as His Majesty King Charles III departed Bermuda following his visit. Over the past few days, The King experienced elements of our culture, history, natural environment, and community life. It was good to see so many residents participate in events and engagements across the island, and this Royal Visit provided positive exposure for Bermuda around the world. My thanks to all who worked to support the visit, and I was pleased to hear that His Majesty enjoyed his time in Bermuda.

At Hamilton City Hall yesterday, I introduced the Mayor of Hamilton, Charles Gosling, to His Majesty King Charles III as The King’s visit continued in the City. With the sun shining and crowds gathered in Hamilton, His Majesty spent time engaging with Bermudians and observing demonstrations of local craft, including cedarwork, stone masonry, traditional banana doll-making, and kite-making. Artwork by students from local schools was also on display, alongside students from Dame Marjorie Bean Hope Academy, clients of the K. Margaret Carter Centre, and music from the Bermuda Institute Steel Pan Band. We also met with representatives of the Bermuda National Gallery, including Chair Gary Phillips OBE and Executive Director Jennifer Phillips, as well as Bermudian artist Michael Frith, co-creator of Fraggle Rock, whose famous caves were inspired in part by Bermuda’s own cave formations. It was a great afternoon in the City and a wonderful opportunity to showcase Bermuda’s creativity, culture, young people, and community spirit.

Yesterday morning, I joined the formal welcome in St. George’s Town Square, part of Bermuda’s UNESCO World Heritage Site, to receive His Majesty King Charles III on his visit to Bermuda. The parade, marked by a 21-gun salute, brought residents together for the official start of His Majesty’s visit. I was pleased to present members of Cabinet to The King, alongside the Mayor of St. George’s, Quinell Francis (captured in the video). His Majesty also greeted members of the public during a walkabout in the Square. We then proceeded to St. Peter’s Church, Their Majesties Chappell, one of Bermuda’s most historic sites and the oldest Anglican church outside the British Isles, where schoolchildren from the eastern parishes lined the steps to welcome The King. My thanks to all who took part in today’s official welcome and helped share the warmth, history and community spirit of St. George’s.

This evening, Kristin and I were honoured to welcome His Majesty King Charles III to Bermuda on behalf of the Government and people of Bermuda. His Majesty’s visit is the first visit by a reigning Sovereign to a British Overseas Territory since Queen Elizabeth II visited Bermuda in 2009. During his time here, The King will meet Bermudians across the island and experience our culture, history, natural environment, and the traditions that continue to shape our community. This Royal Visit reflects the longstanding relationship between Bermuda and the United Kingdom, while providing an opportunity to showcase the warmth of our people, the beauty of our island, and the very best of who we are.
