Just came across these photos of my old friend zach hill @gottagoogle and stefan (mc ride) not long after they started Death Grips @bbpoltergiest . Seen some rumors online lately so random that I came across these, never published or showed them to anyone. I’ve shot zach for a bunch of his projects, solo stuff and Hella, but for these I just ran into them at a festival and took some quick snapshots while I was shooting other stuff for @nytimes . New work for @nytimes Bernhard Warner @romabernhard and I met up in Stockholm recently for a story on Daniel Ek’s (of @spotify fame) latest venture into the medical care business, a new company called Neko Health, which offers whole body scans in conjunction with AI in an effort to diagnose a variety of health-related and medical issues. The cost is low, the waiting list long, and I expect the FAQ’s to be many. Pre-Viking petroglyph hunters for @nytimes @lisaabend and I had a night following these guys around southeastern Norway in a blizzard last month for The New York Times. The 3 are friends and hobbyists who recently discovered 600 new Bronze Age rock carvings (Scandinavian Bronze Age began around 2000 B.C.) depicting ships, humans, animals and geometric shapes. great to have a chance to post a fugazi song (it was either that or pavement embassy row). This week’s @d2magasin features a cover story by @blomsteramator1 and I, we went to Washington DC last month for a story on food diplomacy, specifically to meet @chefeilif , a chef who’s working at the norwegian embassy @norwayinusa and is getting well known for his social media from the kitchen there. The day we arrived they were planning a party, which honestly was starting to feel like a rager late into the night, well done (slide 5: stomping on Quisling's carpet - yes his actual carpet is there to be walked on!). next day we went to the reflecting pool with a fish and a cigarette. Only been to DC a few times, once with the 7th grade class to learn about my government, saw fireflies for the first time at the Lincoln memorial and had my heart broken when I saw matt making out with brandy on the bus (I was sitting right behind them, how could I not?) another time I was on tour and we were waiting to go on when we recognized @joelally898 from Fugazi sitting at the end of the table in catering/green room, I just had to say hello and thank you and we talked about Reno and the show they played at Del Mar station. i had the back of a head smashed into my face during the 2nd song and spent the next 2 or so trying to stop the blood in the bathroom. this time the Trump board of peace was in town, secret service outside my hotel room door, the cherry blossoms were around the corner and we found a fantastic Korean restaurant. my folks lived there before I was born, sometimes I wonder about that life. Too many outtakes here, most didn't print but they’ll just sit on a hard drive forever and my son told me yesterday that forever never ends (his twin sister told me that everything she likes, she loves). #norway #norwegianembassy #salmon #washington #seafood

trust incredible @jolieruben ‘s eye to always find the right photos and the space for them (trust me to oversend). A nice spread in yesterday’s @nytimes , I shot Norwegian author @jonesboauthor and actor @santelmann ahead of the premiere of their new @netflixnordic @netflix show Harry Hole (does that title work in english Hm) at @schroeder_oslo in Oslo. shot for @zeitmagazin @zeit , the media circus on the opening day of the trial of Marius Borg Høiby, the 29-year-old stepson of the heir to the throne of Norway, Prince Haakon. Høiby’s been charged with 38 counts, including 4 counts of rape, 6 counts of filming people without their consent, physical assault, attacking a former partner, and many others. Further complicating things, Høiby was arrested again over the weekend as news broke about his mother, Crown Princess Mette-Marit, and her close ties to Jeffrey Epstein. Pretty big news over here as evidenced by the press and crowds outside the courthouse in Oslo early Tuesday morning. Actor/physician @andersdanielsenlieofficial again (remember that headline @jolieruben /@nytimes ?) but this time with his nice watch for @utvalg ‘s watch column in @d2magasin , in print today. Anders has starred in numerous/iconic norwegian films including joachim trier’s “Oslo, August 31” and “Worst Person In the World” and Mia Hansen-Løve’s “Bergman Island”, and will play musician Bill Evans in Grant Gee’s (of meeting people is easy, cool doc) coming biopic “Everybody Digs Bill Evans.” He’s also working with Glenn Close in a forthcoming film adaptation of Tove Jansson’s “The Summer Book,” beautiful classic novel if any of my American friends haven’t heard of it watches are kind of fun to shoot turns out, thanks for the assignment @9lsvik #andersdanielsenlie @nobledanceroslo #tovejansson #worstpersonintheworld @worst.person.in.the.world #oslo31august #summerbook #bergmanisland #everybodydigsbillevans #billevans

Ok next is last Friday’s @nytimes // I had the pleasure of meeting and photographing the Norwegian film director Dag Johan Haugerud and @ella.overbye , the actress who plays Johanne in his latest film, “Dreams,” part of a three-part project called “Love-Sex-Dreams: The Oslo Trilogy.” Their new film won the Golden Bear at this year’s Berlin International Film Festival, now playing in NYC and the US. We had a nice afternoon laying around the botanical gardens and chatting about work on a warm sweet summer day, but those days are now gone, aren’t they. Shot in the cactus room, smells like home. Story by my friend and colleague Thomas Rogers @iamthomasmax thank you so much @maud.anais who assigned and edited this, and also gave the opening image so much space, lovely working with you Maud. Ok wow well I have 3 stories in last weekend’s @nytimes , Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (Friday counts TGIF etc) First is Sunday’s paper: @lynseychutel and I had the great thrill of flying in a seaplane trailing a brand new electric plane along its test flight over the west coast of Norway, from Stavanger to Bergen, flying low over sea and mountains, fjords and lighthouses, and a little dinghy of slackjawed fisherman. Thank you to lovely @reneemelides and @gettlemanjeffrey for the very fun assignment. Also great edit and layout by @frankie626 and gregory schmidt, with extra reporting contribution from @henriklibell . Lot of heavy news lately so happy this still made it to the homepage yesterday.
