Was das Projekt SOIL so besonders macht, ist die Tatsache, dass jede:r Musiker:in des Ensembles eine eigene Perspektive auf das Thema Boden einbringt. Die einzelnen Stücke tragen dadurch jeweils eine individuelle künstlerische Handschrift, die sich im kollektiven Prozess zu einem gemeinsamen Ganzen verdichten – so auch im Stück „Schichten“ von Ralph Mothwurf, das dazu einlädt, die verschiedenen Ebenen des Bodens klanglich zu erleben.

💫“David’s Dream” is the first single from our upcoming album The Transcendent Triptych on BMC Records.
I originally wrote this piece for a band with vibraphonist David Friedman. Since there are many great Davids out there — and my dear friend David Six is one of them — I found the perfect setting to finally record the tune.
I love the risk of allowing fragility, or at least playing with those subtle nuances. János’ tenor sound is pure gold here. Keep dreaming! ✨
