Early Bird Pricing Ends on May 5th! The Art and Power of Storytelling with Former Disney Animator Dave Zaboski Saturday, May 9th, 10am - 4:30pm SBCAST, 513 Garden St. The Technology of Imagination: How belief, story and care shape the reality we create. Stories are how we shape our world. Storytelling is a technology humans use to make meaning, move people, and design the lives we actually want to live. Hosted at SBCAST in Santa Barbara, this daylong experience, drawn from Dave’s book Grimoire: A Storyteller’s Book of Spells, is for creatives, storytellers, and meaning-makers who sense that story is a form of power and want to use it wisely. Across three acts, Discovery, Discipline, and Devotion, you’ll explore how belief is formed, how narrative shapes the world you inhabit, gain tools and practices for great storytelling and learn why care is the secret ingredient that separates master storytellers from those who merely persuade. You’ll leave with deeper self-knowledge, genuine confidence in your craft, and a grounded practice for the work ahead, connected to a community on a kindred quest to make the world better for all life. One day. Three acts. A story worth telling. Limited seating! Early Bird! Available until May 5th, 11:59 PM $222.00 Standard: $333.00 Available starting May 6, 12:00 AM About the Dave Dave Zaboski is the co-founder and Chief Creative Officer of Laetro.com, a tech-enabled community of the world’s finest creatives serving enterprise customers with best in class design services. I do love going to the Getty. It’s not just because my (long dead) friends are up there and we have deep and lovely conversations about art and creation, but when I’m there, I feel like I’m in a place where humans have strung together an impressive series a very good decisions. Like it’s actually possible for people to collectively make good and great choices. That place feels like the world I’m playing so hard for. #getty #creativelspeaking #gettycenter

You contain worlds. This is the painting I did yesterday for the Vernal Equinox at "Created by Sound" in Topanga Canyon. #createdbysound #creativelyspeaking

A hard decree for all of Love's inmates: If your heart cannot find a joyful work The jaws of this world will probably Grab hold of your sweet ass. -Hafiz This strange verse is over 600 years old. Do we get it yet? With all the AI and our heartless headlong tumbling toward a quick and decisive result, where does practice fit in? The truth is: everywhere. It is in the process where we find the revelations that lead to solutions. It's in the process where we recognize that polarities are only the initiation, the starting point. A blank canvas is eventually filled with greys and that's where the artistry lives. That's where life thrives. What's your practice for getting to the heart of things? Here's mine. #creativelyspeaking

What happens when the automations automate automations ad infinitem? Where do we fit? As long as we're all still (mostly) running the joint, it's best if we continue to get better. Better at what? At being human, of course! If yer down for that, join me and other creative humans from around the world for Creativity for Humans! A last bastion of artistry, skill building and community camaraderie in all of (what's left) of Western Civilization. Wednesday, 11am Pacific online and in person in Chatsworth, Ca. All levels welcome to draw, paint or write about our live costumed model. This is not a drawing class. It's a seeing class. Come along and I'll show you what the difference is. Join us and connect with other humans before it's too late. 10$ suggested donation to help cover the model. Link in comments. DM for address if you're in town. Drawings by Bianca Brown, Angelo DiNallo and me. #creativityforhumans. #creativelyspeaking

We haven't even begun to consider the thermodynamic ramifications presented by this manic and mostly careless frenzy for techno-disruption. You probably don't want to know. So just forget about it. Instead why don't you join us for Creativity for Humans. Every Wednesday at 11AM Pacific we gather from around the world online and in person to engage the one thing that is irreplaceable in the Universe: Your Imagination. Bring it to draw, paint, sculpt or write about our fabulous model and connect more deeply to that spark deep in you that's always been there. It all started with a burnt stick and by god it's gonna end there. Link in comments. #creativelyspeaking #creativityforhumans
