The response to the RMU prototype unveiling video was honestly incredible. Tons of views, tons of comments, and a LOT of great questions. A lot of you asked when the dual idler system was developed, what problem it was trying to solve, and why I kept pushing the concept forward over the years. This 60 second cut is a quick overview of some of the major moments along the way. I’ll be posting a much longer and more in-depth long format video in the coming days that dives deeper into the engineering, development, racing results, and answers to many of the questions from the comments.

Going through some old boxes unpacking from moving and this was too good not to share in real time. This was the first mountain bike product I ever designed, and I built it by hand. At the time I had no idea of the implications this would have on my life and on mountain bikes. Crazy.

Who's fired up? This guy. Not often I get to personally share the first look at a new prototype bike that is built around a lot of technology I invented, but today is the day! Let's all welcome @rmu.mtn.co to the family! I am beyond thankful to have gotten the opportunity to work with the RMU team over the past couple of years and help them bring their MTB dreams to life. What an amazing group of people and company, it has been so fun working with them! This here is the Nighttrain. 170mm of ground pounding full 29er fury built around my dual idler dual chain drivetrain and a new generation Orion suspension layout "flexing" a mid pivot 6-bar flex stay layout. It's rad. You're probably going to love it.

School vacation week in the books, making memories for our little guy Otis. A huge thanks to our friends Meagan and Daniel, we had an awesome few days including a tour of the Boeing 787 factory, crazy! We also visited with our friends from MVY the Bryans on Sullivan's Island, toured the USS Yorktown aircraft carrier, and spent a day at Fort Moultrie, even found a geocache. Too bad IG only lets you do 10 pics because I have about 100.

It's been a burly couple of weeks since the final leg of my West Coast swing. Boy that was an awesome trip. I got to meet up with Hans, Colin, Tom, Roxy, Cat, Nick and a few more of Ibis cycles crew who I met for the first time. It was so great to see them all. I feel so fortunate to be a part of such a positive and creative group of people! Hans gave me a tour of Ibis's carbon fiber Fram manufacturing facility. Last time I was here they were kind of ramping up so it was so cool to see it all in full production building Exies! What an amazing crew of people they have working there, true craftsman! I also went to Nevada City and grass City to meet up with my buddy Gil, and among roasting coffee, talking about designing things building things, RC cars, motorcycles, mountain bikes, the general wildness of life, we also fit in a trip to one of the California Gold Rush mines and one of the best maker spaces I've ever seen. That was an amazing experience all around can't wait to go back up there. I'm rarely tired but won't lie, after a red eye home I needed a day off after getting back! (didn't get one)

The second leg of my trip was fantastic! I caught up with a bunch of old friends, and got back to Whistler Village for the first time in a while. Along the way I got to see Transition Bikes awesome facility, spend some quality time with the boys from Evil Bikes, and check out the RMU Skis location in Whistler Village. So sick reconnecting with Billy Lewis and Sam Burkhardt from Transition, Gabe Fox who I traveled the world with what seems a lifetime ago,  David Watson who I think every mountain biker of my generation looks up to, and my old friends Jill Kintner and Bryn Atkinson. Also finally meeting Dylan Bibbins in person for the first time after years of missing each other was a highlight! Mega thanks to Cole and the whole Evil crew for cooking dinner on Thursday night, that was amazing! Capping it all off with a beer with my buddy Todd in Seattle was perfect. It's so awesome to see so many of my friends succeeding in all kinds of different and inspiring ways. I definitely missed a lot of people I wanted to see but it was a pretty good effort. Off to CA!

What a great start to what's going to be a awesome and fun trip. I'm headed to Bellingham Whistler and California over the next week. I decided to bring a four-wheel drive buggy with me and go run some laps at the legendary Tacoma RC Raceway. The club racing scene here is insane I showed up 10 minutes after the doors opened and the pits were almost full! The track was incredible, a really tricky flow layout. I can see why this place is so special. And this track definitely can make you into a good driver. I really wish I had more time to run! About 2 minutes after getting into the place I ran into an old friend of mine Mark Landsaat, and it was really great reconnecting with him. To top it all off my homeboy Brian Piper and I got together to catch up over dinner. Couldn't write it up much better than that. Off to Bellingham!

This past weekend wrapped up travel for the holiday season with a bang! I attended the Vintage Off-Road World Championships at Thunder Alley Speedway in Lucama, NC. It was absolutely amazing seeing so many old friends and meeting so many new people. We had a lot of laughs over the three days. Racing against a field of drivers that have chassis and tire sponsorships as a privateer is never easy. I haven't been able to get to a clay track in about a year and a half or race any major events, so I expected to be really rusty but things turned out a lot better than I expected. Vintage racing to me is kind of a war of attrition and requires a lot of pre-race prep. I was pretty proud that all of my cars were in the mains. Don't get me wrong, I broke a ton of shit, but nothing I wasn't prepared to fix with a little (lot of) help from my friends *(Thanks Brock and Joseph!)* My XX 2WD was one of the fastest purely vintage 17.5 at the track. The way I have that car built it requires really aggressive driving, and I made a few mistakes. It was a ton of fun, and with a better driver, that car still could have done some damage against some modern inspired buggies that address the inherent limitations of the XX chassis. It's time to retire this XX moving forward and join the pros with a fully custom car. I'm going to do this one myself, so stay tuned on that one.. My XXX in 13.5 was downright filthy good. I was one of the only 13.5 two-wheel drive that was clearing the triple on the front straightaway. Broke an arm in one of my quals, which put me as BQ. I struggled with being so much faster than the other cars and made a bunch of mistakes coming up on other vehicles way too fast. I probably should have just slowed down, but I guess I'm not wired that way. I will learn from this. 10.5 4WD was the fastest class of the weekend. I won the B Main going away and was 9th on the grid for the A Main. I ran a few really hot laps to start and worked my way up to 3rd, which I held for most of the race. I tried to cruise it out for the last few laps and made a couple small mistakes which put me in P6. Honestly one heck of a showing for me considering the competition. So fun!

I'm so proud to be a parent with @linleydolby and raising this wonderful little boy. Otis is kind, loving, hard working, hilarious, quick-witted, and just a great little person. 8 years have just flown by. Lots of big changes this year, and this one is trending to be the best yet!
