2016 RedBull Cape Fear event almost didn’t run because the surf was so big. Kobi gave an inspiration speech and the crew sacked up and history was made. At a mere 18 years old, Russel stayed calm, focused, and emerged the champ. Fortunate to help commentate the event itʻs still one of the craziest days of surfing I’ve ever witnessed.

Wow where to start. This was such a amazing experience. From just the airport going through customs to and the journey from hawaii to the field and all the driving from spot to spot. 40hrs on the road or what was called we just got to take 10 laps around maui to the next spot lol.
All I can say was I was in awe with every little thing. Every walk in the field I heard a new noise seen a new creature. Connecting with all the new sounds and living things I felt like a little kid in a new toy store.
I can't thank @bowhunting_oz enough for setting it all up for me and my friends. It's a trip planned from just before covid and kept getting pushed back yr after yr and Troy took charge and made it happen. I can't thank you enough for everything.
