🐙🌊 Flashback 🌊🐙
Diving back into Bendigo Bricks 2025 and Dave McWilliam’s (@davemc_bricks ) astounding Kraken build — a writhing sea monster bursting from the depths in a tangle of tentacles! 🧱⚓
Dynamic, detailed and just a little bit scary (in the best way), it was a true showstopper that had visitors circling the table to take it all in.
Prepare to be amazed all over again when Bendigo Bricks celebrates its 10th Anniversary on 11–12 April 2026 at the Bendigo Exhibition Centre! 🎉
Who knows what legends will rise from the deep this weekend!
Every month at our local lug meeting we have a build competition.
The January theme was Splash!
Up to 16x16 studs wide and 16 bricks high.
Being the father of two boys it seemed quite fitting that this would be my splash😂

Friday Flashback ✨🧱
One of the standout moments from Brickvention 2024 was this jaw-dropping, life-size build of Gollum, crafted by the incredibly talented Dave McWilliams (@davemc_bricks ).
Built at human scale and packed with expressive detail, this sculptural masterpiece stopped visitors in their tracks, a perfect example of how LEGO® bricks can be pushed far beyond the expected - blending character, emotion, and serious building skill into a truly unforgettable display.
A huge flashback shout-out to Dave for bringing such an iconic character to life, brick by brick.

🐍✨ Tuesday Sneak Peek! ✨🐍
Today we’re giving you an early look at an incredible build from Dave McWilliams (@davemc_bricks ), a member of the Bendigo LEGO User Group (@bendigobricks ) and a returning Brickvention exhibitor.
Dave is back for his fourth year at Brickvention, and this time he’s bringing something truly mesmerising… Medusa.
A lifelong fan of mythological creatures—and inspired by childhood memories of watching Jason and the Argonauts—Dave has crafted a striking sculptural bust crowned with Medusa’s iconic mane of slithering snakes. Known for his amazing sculptural builds and clever NPU (Nice Parts Usage), Dave continually pushes the boundaries of what LEGO bricks can do.
This Medusa bust is part of his growing series, with his second creation exploring a cyberpunk style. And he’s already planning to expand the collection in the years ahead!
Come see Medusa up close at Brickvention 2026 this January at the Royal Exhibition Building.
