Life drawing with the lochaber life drawing group . 6 hrs session sitting for this group which I have done many times over a number years, such a wonderful collection of artists. They started many years ago as the Glencoe Life Drawing group (in Glencoe obviously !) then after a couple of new homes have now settled in Fort William. Thanks guys.

Figure study in charcoal and ink - preparation for oil painting, on canvas maybe ? Drafting out a quick set of quick and response loose sketches really help get a feel for the model pose, the composition and light. Would much rather work from life but needs must, we have more wild unicorns roaming around up here that life models.

Another work in progress figure study from wet plate collodion Ambrotype of @samanthalucyyy - oil on paper with cold wax for texture and other reasons - free to attend oil painting with cold wax demo at @birnamarts this coming saturday (7th Feb) at 2-3pm - last weekend of the @perthshireartisans winter exhibition.
For this work the plate was reversed, why ?, who knows, just seemed a good idea at the rime, the beauty of working from glass originals.
