Mad Tab has always been a live band first. That’s all it was in the early days. The shows always had an unpredictable-ness and explosiveness to them. From bowling alley riots to wild venue shows; it’s been in the Mad Tab DNA. Fishbone has always been labeled as one of, if not, thee best and most explosive live band in SoCals punk rock and American Music history. Influencing many of today’s superstar bands like @chilipeppers @nodoubt and many more. When Fishbone and Mad Tab played together for the first time at The Brixton in South Bay it went off (photo of Fishbone from that show featured). Later on, about 15 or so years ago Dave worked with Fishbone, touring for years (see photo- Norwood @woodywoodstraw , Dave, Les Claypool from @primusville , & Rocky George from @suicidaltendencies ). Norwood and Dave even produced skate music events together. And crossed paths since, becoming friends. When Mad Tab started getting mixes back from @haydenvision (@tunnelvisionsc @tubetownstudios and Jim Monroe (Racket Room) Dave sent Awake to Norwood just to check it out. It sparked conversation w/ Norwood who was starting his own label, Inna Nuttshell Rekordingz. I don’t think either really expected it at 1st but overtime the talk of releasing it w/ Norwood grew and now Mad Tab is officially releasing the 1st single “Awake” off the upcoming 17 track record w/ Norwood on April 1st. Oddly enough the Mad Tab Bonehead logo was birthed before this collaboration kicked off, yet seems fitting to Norwoods Fishbone ties, although unrelated. Punk rock is Mad Tab’s roots even though we detoured into rocksteady reggae for a while. This next album brings the Mad Tab roots & history full circle. Now more explosive & backed by one of the greatest musicians from one of the most influential bands in punk rock roots and music history. See it live this Sunday at @harvelleslb . A special announcement! The Bumbee, Squid, Kai Bear, my God Daughter turns the big 4 today! 🤯 This is happening so fast. I never really wanted kids but if there was single handedly one person that made me regularly reconsider that. It would be this little lady. From walking into band practices with her headphones on and a mini guitar saying “I’m ready” and then messing with all the pedal effects knobs 😂 to giving the greatest welcomes with her “Uncie Dave!” And running up for hugs or the greatest send offs with “Have a great show Uncie Dave, break a leg” 🥹. I have a ton of love for this little lady and am super grateful to be her Godfather. She is definitely full of life, rambunctious yet well behaved, and knows how to light up my day and life. Have a great Birthday Kai! I’m sure your folks don’t need another toy in the house but 🤷🏻‍♂️ Happy Birthday! 🎈 🎁🎊

I decided to share some of the music I’ve been listening to lately. You can check it out if you want. As someone heavily wrapped up in the music world I’m constantly listening to a variety of music for inspiration and just because I enjoy it. Everything from hardcore punk rock to pop, jazz, hip hop, reggae, and beyond. Basically everything. Even electronic music. Sometimes even if I’m not super into it I’ll still force myself to listen to entire records because there might be one chorus, a riff, or bridge or something that stands out and I think as a musician it’s important to understand how others write and connect their art to their personality or whatever. Anyways, here’s some records I’ve been on lately. Had a killer day off on tour yesterday and hiked to the top of Seven Falls National Park in Colorado. Truly epic and much needed with all the editing and marketing screen time I intake daily. I highly recommend this to anyone visiting Colorado Springs.

Im grateful for the good times at a great festival, kicking off the main stage before a bunch of great artists including Cypress Hill, Slightly Stoopid, Kid Cudi, Pepper, Rebelution, Ludacris and more. Everyone crushed it. Disposable camera photo dump. I hardly ever post on my own page since I’m usually posting on other pages constantly. But I bought this modernized disposable camera that’s been on a handful of tours and trips so far. And I think it’s pretty cool. So here’s a photo dump from both the Tunnel Vision Denm tour, music video filming, and the Mad Tab Punk Rock Bowling weekend. 🤝

Here’s a shot I forgot was sent to me that was taken by the talented @jpcorderophoto at the Saint Rocke wildfire benefit show a month or so ago with a bunch of cool bands (Pepper, Tomorrows Bad Seeds, Fortunate Youth, and more). Its not often I’m in front the camera unless it’s mid performance or something and I think this one’s cool so I posted it. The chops are gone but might make a return. Lots going on and coming up. Been pretty nonstop the past few months between music, film, conventions, marketing, wildfire defense, girlfriend, family, and travel.
