◎概要
オトナのシャコタン専門誌スタンス・マガジンと姉妹誌である日本で唯一のカスタム専門誌カスタムCARがコラボして開催する“BUILD”委員会を発足! 日本の素晴らしいハイレベルなカスタムをもっと世界に発信していくことが当催しの基本コンセプト。初回となる今回はNEW SCHOOL CUSTOM SHOW（NSCS）の一角を担って開催となる。日本屈指のカスタムショークロスファイブ派生のNSCSはアメリカンカスタムの中でも“DUB”というビカンビカンなカスタムペイントにブリンブリンの大径ホイールを履いたラグジュアリーな世界観を演出したアメ車がメインの催し。そのNSCSが日本の改造車雑誌とのコラボをすることに! まずは芸文社のスタンス・マガジンとカスタムCARのBUILD。その他にトラッキンの“CUSTOM TRUCKS MAGAZINE”とローライダーの“FOR LIFE NEXT MAGAZINE”が参加表明を発表! まさにカスタムカルチャーのクロスロードといった内容となる。
その中でも初開催のBUILDは本誌とカスタムCARのコラボということでテーマを設けることに。
初回となる今回のテーマは
「エンジンカスタム＆チューニングが施されたクルマたち」
今やエンジンカスタムはスタンスやカスタムカーの花形！シェイブドベイやワイヤータックなどが施されボンネットを開けている姿は素人から玄人までそのクルマの世界観に魅了される。ビス一つにもこだわり抜いたクルマたちがBUILDに参加。そのアイコンとなるのが本誌とカスタムCARでカメラマンとして活躍するサンダー平野氏の510ブルーバード。90年代に日本初、いや世界初の510にSRエンジンをスワップしたクレイジーな経歴を持つ。エンジンカスタムのパイオニアは今も貪欲に進化を続けている。日本各地からエンジンカスタムが集まるイベントが初回のBUILD。これはもうBUILDとサンダー平野氏からの挑戦状とも言える。われこそはというツワモノたち、エントリーすべし！
