Marrickvilleâs @datenightstudio is buzzing. In just a few months, the tiny 5x3m space has become a hub for connection, creativity and collaboration. From oyster and wine nights to pop-up dinners and upcoming collabs with local artists, every corner transforms to host something new. Inspired by a New York approach to space and imagination, Date Night proves, in the words of its founderâ "itâs not the size but how you use it".Â

Weâve been fans of @datenightstudio since they quietly landed on Marrickvilleâs Addison Road last year. Known for their wildly romantic, maximalist arrangements and explosive colour palettes, the studio has quickly become one of Sydneyâs most distinctive floral voicesâmost recently crafting the blooms for @nicolandford âs @afcaustralianfashionweek show at Elizabeth Bay House.
We decided to catch up with Luemma, one half of the studioâs creative duo, to talk through the inspiration behind the arrangements, queer collaborations and why fashion and flowers have always made perfect sense together.

Community ! Community ! Community!
The most beautiful part of life is human connection.
truly, we would be nothing without our people, the ones who hold us, who brighten our days, who support us
Forever grateful for every last one of you here x
WEEK 18 <<<<<333333 We got through Motherâs Day week with beautiful flowers, Britney, lots of laughs, dog pats, back aches, cake, every beverage known to man and the most beautiful community of ppl.
Thank you! Xxx
Motherâs Day is one of the biggest weeks of the year for florists â and the costs behind it increase long before the flowers even reach the shop.
Wholesale flower prices rise due to demand. Freight costs increase. Florists bring on extra staff, work longer hours, and often start their days at flower markets before sunrise to prepare hundreds of orders in a very short window.
Every bouquet is cleaned, conditioned, arranged, wrapped, and delivered by hand.
So while the price may feel higher than usual, itâs not just about the flowers themselves â itâs the labour, logistics, time, and care that go into every order.
Support local this Motherâs Day! X
