In going through my archives last night I stumbled upon this set of images we created together with @squasha.kasman at the Juilliard school.
At the time I wasn’t paying attention to my own gift of seeing as I was very obsessed about the image itself. But now after the time has passed I can see in these photos a reflection of my ability to hold space for presence of the natural talent in the other human.
It’s so beautiful to witness and an honor to capture.
Sasha had such a profound impact on my relationship with music. I am glad we have these memories to come back to ♥️
Like many of you I am equally fascinated and terrified by the Ai powers. While I am outsourcing a lot of business/operations to Claude.
In photography I want to be extra careful. I look for ways to preserve my vision while at the same time transcend my human limitations.
Like in this case - I staged and shot still images, but obviously wasn’t able to shoot video at the same time. I think the end result came out pretty good for my first experiment.

My new meditation.
One of the reasons I wanted to get a medium format camera is the slow pace it requires.
I feel that everything is moving so fast that engaging in creative work, that you can do with your hands is like a magic pill for getting me back into my body 🙏
There is something about physicality of it.
P.s. very anxious to get my negatives back from the lab! Fingers crossed they look great 🤞🤞🤞

Contrast is easy to see. It presents you the answers without an option to think of the questions first.
Whereas the grey area of midtones, like the light on an overcast day, offers you an array of options for your eyes to look at and in what order.
