SO EXCITED to be starting an artist residency @timetobehappygallery ❤️
You can find me sculpting, painting, sewing and scheming at the gallery on the Bowery for the rest of August and September. 💀🖤 come visit. This place is artist heaven.
Here’s 20 chaotic seconds of oil painting characters from my animated series — The Icarian Experiment. Xx dash
5 day study with our wonderful model Rahsaan. Wish I had given myself a little more time on this one but.. Montana was calling me home. 💀❤️

PS posting another little sculpture after this. Sorry for spamming. You guys know I hate my phone so when I can double up I usually do. 😂💀
Work in progress. The eyes are absolutely killing me. Dasha vs eyes. If I’m MIA it’s probably because I’m fighting with this canvas. Or clay. All the mediums are kicking my ass this week.
I’ll concede it might have been a bad decision to use a 1920s black and white photograph as reference. If anyone looks like this woman or knows someone who looks like her who I could take a reference shot of, message me. ❤️💀
Still, I’m happy with the feeling she’s giving me.
At the end, again, a few snippets of the women and girls who are behind my characters. Nadia, Gita, Vasilisa, Honnachka, Leonora, Ljubachka.❤️

Quick head study @aslnyc from last week working from the otherworldly and wonderfully intense @a.guy.named_kai 🖤💀
One of my favorite songs. I always listen to it when I’m sad. It’s sort of tragic but in an energizing way if that makes sense. 🎵«Мелодия» Performed by Muslim Magomayev. Music by Aleksandra Pakhmutova, lyrics by Nikolai Dobronravov. 🖤 someone get after me if I’m wrong about any of that lol.

Ты моё сомнение
Тайна долгого пути
Сквозь дожди осенние
Слышу я гоpькое пpости
Зоpь пpощальных заpево
Голос твой теpяется вдали
Что тебя заставило
Забыть мелодию любви

Basically. i heard this Carol Anne McGowan version of Mad Girl’s Love Song (originally a poem by Sylvia Plath) the other day (shoutout @loveizzystudio for the great taste as always).
The next day we had a beautiful model sit for a few hours for my class and she took this pose on the edge of a stool. This work started from the model but was about 80% finished from imagination/memory throughout the rest of the day. I can’t believe how wonderful and different it is to sculpt from the memory of a body.
I have been feeling like a bit of a “mad girl” recently lol. All of the little characters in my brain seem to be arguing with each other these days. 😂💀❤️ So I think this creature emerged from there, you know? I think maybe if there’s a little court scene happening in my brain, this mad girl is sitting in the middle of them all, just quietly thinking and daydreaming as the lawyers make their cases, and the jurors raise their brows and the judge sighs deeply.
That’s all. Just a little madness for you I guess.

Have been on my sculpting grind at @aslnyc in preparation for the @nationalsculpturesociety competition in May. :)
God I love working from a live model. It’s such a special thing to get to look at another person so closely, so intentionally and for so long. You get to see little changes in expression and gesture, and then you get to feel those changes beneath your fingertips as you manipulate the clay to emulate them.
I have this feeling that I’m never really recreating the model in front of me. It’s more like creating a new strange clay-being that is loaded with a thousand little decisions and quirks of personality — the model’s and my own. Sometimes I wake up out of my sculpting stupor to realize I’ve sculpted my own expression onto the piece. It’s eerie and fun and intimate but not in the obvious ways I think.
All this to say—these cold lumps of clay have made me feel very soft and very human lately.
This piece was made from the beautiful, thoughtful, complicated Kat.

PS Yes I did change the pose at the very end so that she could be freestanding lol.
Little behind the scenes of the @silk.rebel.official Valentine’s shipment last week!! 💌💋
Peep me ( @dashabough ) finally learning how to gift wrap at 4am on a Tuesday… 💀👀🖤
You guys damn near cleared me out of silk! 🥹❤️
‼️ I’ll be doing a drop of just stoles and long skinny scarves this weekend. Waiting to list them until I can catch my breath and make a few styling videos. 💀🔥 more info soon.
In the meantime, I have a challenge: Take photos of yourself wearing your Silk Rebel in an unlikely or rebellious environment. I have received photos from Paris, from the Rocky Mountains, from the NY subway, from a rock concert— bring it on!
Xx Silk Rebel
And remember. The rebellions can be big, small, funny or serious… I love it all. 💀💋
PS I’m sorry, no, I do not speak French (sadly) I just love this song. 💀
What a New York night … 💋💀 Thank you to my sweet brilliant friend @blufrankel for inviting me to sculpt the beautiful and strong @vedafayem ❤️ Sculpting a dancer while friends and strangers danced and laughed around us was pure joy. Kind of my ideal “partying” experience lol. 😂❤️
For anyone still reading — this kind of feels like a fun time to share something I’m so excited about… I was chosen by the @nationalsculpturesociety to compete in the Richard McDermott Miller Sculpture Competition at the 2026 Sculpture Celebration at Lyme Academy of Fine Arts this May! I will share more about this in coming months (since I’m bursting with excitement but also because I have a lot of training to catch up on if you catch my drift). But it’s a special thing for me because I really started sculpting seriously last May after watching @pemakingpin blow everyone away and take second at this competition. It was amazing to watch her — she was like a sculpture Olympian. Training everyday. And it set me down this path that I’ve fallen in love with. So thanks Pem and thanks Blu and thanks Veda. ❤️🫶
Sorry for the long writing.
