Getting more in-depth with the @nikonsg cameras with our seniors from @montfortcare ! This time with our frequently returning 老师 @darylleech !

The end of the journey is certain.
We cannot decide when or how.
Therefore, we should not count the days, but make the days count!
Due to my work, this is a common theme. Capturing the memories of this last lap is what I can do with my skills/gift.
It is not just about pressing the shutter.
But rather it is about the message behind the image.
This is a joint collaboration with @mintostudios to conduct photography workshops for @montfortcare seniors.
Skills can be learned, no matter the age. That knowledge stays with you. Even though you might have forgotten after some time, it will return after "warming up".
Just like me riding on the swing!
Why you shoot will determine how you shoot.
This is a phrase I share with my participants when I conduct photography workshops.
.
.
A photo is not just a moment captured. It is about moments that will never come back.
.
.
What if one day… all you have left are photos?
Would they mean anything… or are they just random shots?
After being in @privatecommunityai for 6 months, I realised that everything I do, I need that sense of significance. It is present in the way I shoot events, but I was not aware previously.
.
.
Everything shown in the photo tells a story.
1. You can tell that the photo is shot during a Private Community meeting.
2. We met at YMCA Cypress room.
3. This moment was during the "Request" segment of the meeting.
4. You know the guy standing there is Michael.
5. "Elevate to Admiration" is a key phrase for Private Community.
6. There are cards with the Private Community logo on the tables. We call them "Contribution cards".
7. You can see the interface of the Private Community of the AI portal on the laptop monitor.
8. Margaret is a Christian.

What do you notice from the photo?
Remember elderly, remember Daryl Lee.
This is how I remind my 1800++ referral partners within @bni.sg of the visual & audio cues to recognise.
Easy to remember, easy to recognise.
How do you make yourself more referrable? By making it easy for people to remember you. You should be the first person that pops up in their minds when someone is asking for some help or service.
I want to be the vendor for clients that require visuals when their loved ones gather. Thus, one easy way is to anchor it to the elders.
This photo was taken by @chelsyliu during today's Gold Club networking event. Thank you for capturing me while I am "working".
我完成了我的第一个华文路演!
Having done many presentations in English, it is quite a challenge to do a full presentation in Mandarin.
Lifelong learning is a mindset.
Anyone got ideas for a punny tagline in Mandarin that can reflect "Remember elderly, remember Daryl Lee"?
Client: I need headshots taken in between my conference.
Me: Sure!
Client: We don't have a room for you to use.
Me: No problem!
Client: Oh, you can only shoot beside the refreshment area.
Me: Game on!
I am Daryl. I am a solutionist that holds a camera.
万物 or normally translated as 10,000 things was used to define "everything in the material world" during ancient times. At that time, 10,000 was considered a super big number to comprehend. And now, there is infinity to wrap our heads with.
During the photography workshops that I teach, I always share this concept: "Change the way you see the world, and the world around you changes". And I just realised there is 2 parts to it.
The first is Mindset. Without changing your internal viewpoint, the world still looks the same. Think of the frog at the bottom of the well. It thought the world was only so big and didn't dare to step out of it. Mindset is the Why.
The second is Skillset. Once you know the Why, the How is much easier. The How can be changed through the advancement of technology like complex machines or AI.
As a photographer/videographer, my Why is to ensure my clients have a visual record of past memories. A deeper aspect of the Why is to ensure that the clients' loved ones are also captured. In times of "departure ", many do not have any options to choose a dignified image. The How is easy. Selecting the right equipment, creating the right situations for achieving the end results.
As I upgrade both my Mindset and Skillset, I am reminded that principles can transcend boundaries. I apply "Begin with the end in mind" when I speak to my media clients. The Why will determine How we shoot for them. Likewise, the use of Symmetry in photography can be applied to NLP with their concept of mirroring.
Our work and actions are not defined by our work titles. Our Why gives us options of the work we do. Our How defines our titles.
My Why is to impact the world through my "lazy" (Read: one action to solve multiple problems) way of seeing the world.
One of my How is capturing life through photography. One other How is sharing principles through photography.
80% of success is showing up!
And this is how you manufacture luck.
I attended the @bossesnetworkyoungchapter annual CNY dinner yesterday. Although I was part of the network for a few years, but I didn't participate in many of their activities.
So I took a deliberate effort to attend more of their events since beginning of 2025. Last year's CNY dinner was the first time that I attended. By sheer luck, I won the first prize last year.
Throughout the year, they had their monthly learning visits to different companies as well as the overseas learning trip. Made many new friends along the way too. So I received many prizes throughout the year.
So this year, I also took time to attend the CNY dinner. I not only won a chair from @nobledesk but also the first prize as well!
People may just put it off as pure luck. Yes, it may be true to a certain percentage. But if I don't show up at all, then there is totally no chance. If I didn't participate in the draw, then there is no chance too. If I didn't stay till the end, then there is zero chance too.
Change the way you see the world and the world around you changes.
I am not just a photographer. I support individuals in their personal and professional growth through the knowledge of photography principles.
PS: thank you @ml.studio for the photos!
Same same but different.
This is such a well known term in our local context. But try explaining this to a foreigner from US or UK.
In the new age of media and the ever growing AI trend, it is not just about content, context or even quality.
Thank you @differentercolin for meeting up. Your sharing has been super insightful on growth as a company. Ensuring that the team of 12 is taken care of, in spite of lower margins and change of the landscape, is something I am inspired by.
In the grand scheme of things, we are the same; providers of media content for our clients. But yet, we are servicing different tiers of clients.
Do you see industry players as potential competitors or as potential collaborators?
