Our first Towers Talks event yesterday proved to be a fantastic start to what promises to become a key part of the social and community calendar at Darwen Cricket Club. It was brilliant to see such a strong turnout, with members, supporters and friends of the club coming together in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

@toastmasterbutler , who did an excellent job as MC - setting the tone, guiding the afternoon and helping create a warm, engaging atmosphere throughout.
The highlight of the session was hearing from our new professional,
@sangeeth_cooray95 . It was a great opportunity for everyone to get to know the person behind the player. Sangeeth shared his journey, experiences and insights, and it’s clear he has already made a significant impact both on and off the pitch since arriving at our club.
Towers Talks is all about strengthening our club community - bringing people together, sharing stories, and enjoying time socially beyond matchdays. This first event delivered exactly that, with plenty of conversation, laughter and connection across the room.
The afternoon was rounded off perfectly with soup and sandwiches from Buffet Emporium, which, as always, were excellent and very well received.
A sincere thank you to everyone who attended and supported the event.
