Very sad news to report, my cherubs. David Wood, aka Jesus Is Weed, passed away in his sleep last Tuesday night. As we all know, David and his music have been a pillar of our community, as they have for so many others, since the beginning. This has been very hard news for us.
This post is to announce that tomorrow night's open mic show will be a tribute to David and a celebration of his life and the life we all got to live thru him and his music.
With that said, if you are thinking of coming but didn't know David, I urge you to come and take part anyway. He would have wanted you to know what makes our community so special, and nobody showed that off like David.
This is Miss Mira speaking. I'm going to save most of my words about David for the show tomorrow so forgive me for not going into much detail right now. But I'll be looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow night.

Took me a minute but I realized I knew Andrew from an old Irish pub I used to hang out at when I first moved to Seattle. Been almost 10 years since we last saw each other. In fact, his dad did some work on one of my guitars years and years ago.
But definitely worth giving Colby a listen. Reminds me of early 2000s Kasey Anderson tunes. Simple, but beautiful song writing.

Nothing feels better than that drop where I'm singing to full room that's just gone deathly silent to listen as I cut back to only singing, with everyone leaning in to listen - right before rushing back in at the top of my lungs, stomping and beating on my guitar.
Doesn't matter how many times I do it, it's such a cool moment every time.
And for real, @darrellstavern has such good sound. Every time I go there the room is on point with the mix.
