Alright guys, a little story time before we talk about tonight’s show.
i’ve now lost count of the number of shows i’ve curated/programmed in the last 9 months since i started
@futurefunk.co . For me, i curate lineups that i love to listen to, rather than what sells in the market. If i’m not enjoying my own sounds, there’s no point in doing it. This is why you’d see a lot of breaks/bass/electro sounds at my shows (more on Hip-Hop some other time)
Anyway, i’ve been attending gigs at
@aurodelhi for over 8 years now, and some of the wildest music discoveries have happened over here, whether be it the sounds of 140, grime, 2 step or heavy breakbeat chuggers.
I worked behind the scenes for boxout wednesdays and some few more shows here and there, with more recent ones with Kiss Nuka and Kohra with Tapan Raj’s Off Center. But never in my wildest dreams I imagined I’d get a chance to throw my own gig at a venue which is at the forefront of the music scene in delhi. Life does come full circle, sometimes it takes close to a decade.
