i first met ducky backstage at c/o pop three years ago, singing a rex orange county tune. two years later, he reached out, just coming off a break from music and all the pressure that comes with it, asking if he could spend a few days at my place in the countryside to work on some ideas and see if we’d click. after our very first session though, he wanted to reschedule, just not really feeling it. it was late, so we planned to drop him at the station the next morning. but overnight, something shifted. by morning he’d written ‘prime time’ which we recorded on the spot. that was early 2024. since then, we’ve made a lot of music together and i couldn’t be prouder of our first ep 🫂
HEARTCUTS ✂️✂️ out now
the initial spark for heartcuts was a guitar part, buried on my hard drive for +5 years. we dug it up, cut the first verse / chorus in a day. carefully shaped every nuance the following months. sent it to david for some sonic goodness. now it’s yours to keep x
‚rock n roll healing’ is out!!! @listentoeveline and I made this one during our very first session back in late 2023. we couldn’t quite find the pocket at first and put it aside.
…then, a few months back, we started experimenting, shifting ideas, and reworking parts and suddenly everything locked in—lisa found the right voice and I layed down the missing guitar/ bass drum parts - @davidmariatrapp_mixer put in his a game and lifted the track to another level - beyond proud to share this with you - heaps more come this year // cover by @schogette_
