Newspaper article from Italy today. Although I can't read what the newspaper says I'm reliably informed it says that this photograph of rock band Tygers of Pan Tang is the best photograph taken of any band ever and should be awarded a Pulitzer Prize, Grammy and Academy Award. Apparently...😉
It may also mention that the Tygers have a new single (Electrified) out now and album coming in September... Just a guess.
The cat (or should that be Tyger) is out of the bag - First image from the photo session earlier this year with @tygers_of_pan_tang for their forthcoming album and tour.
The shoot was in a steel foundry in the North East - could it possibly get more heavy metal???

@benchristomusic and @rickywarwickofficial - A call out of the blue "I'm playing your town tonight, will you take photos?" - I live for those calls!!!
@julietsnotdead - So open and adaptable in allowing me my vision of using one of the largest buildings in the city as a backdrop and lighting it up in the dark. Great to have this published in Digital Camera Magazine too.
@deadposey - photographing this amazing band in a small club in Newcastle then seeing them a few weeks later opening for Marilyn Manson at Wembley Arena. What a trajectory and great to see my images used on the band's reels and posts.
@esotericaband - A favourite band of mine for years but never seen live. That changed in 2025 and I love the images captured from their ethereal set.
@saxon.official - Another unexpected pleasure when the Tygers of Pan Tang (see recent post dedicated to these fine friends) asked me to join them for their Newcastle City Hall show supporting Saxon. The City Hall is a fine venue where I saw Saxon in the 80's, it was a pleasure to return and photograph them in 2025.

The versatility of hand-size speed light flashguns. Here, I lit a huge section of prominent architecture using just two Yongnuo yn600ex-rt ii units with a third for the band near dusk.
A fun shoot (as ever with Juliet's Not Dead) and a great way to spend a summer evening!
