Classico had a big morning! He headed to the vet to get his “extra baggage” removed (⚽️🏀). If all goes well, he may not need dentures—but his teeth will definitely need a little love from the vet. A recent post we put up of Waffles reached 400 likes yet he received zero applications. Why are people skipping over this handsome and goofy guy? Well, people nowadays have unrealistic expectations about dogs. They think going to the shelter for a 5th time will somehow magically result in this perfectly adjusted, amazingly trained animal. That’s not true of any dog, not even from a breeder. 🙃 And the best part, these people with unrealistic expectations who lament over needing a “perfect” dog and refuse to have any mild quirks, will easily discard them. So I’m here to say, Waffles is amazing, friendly, loves literally everything (a little too much). But he has quirks, he is jumpy when he’s happy to see you. If that mild behavior is a make or break for you, don’t get a dog. In fact, get a pet rock. They will not move, make any noise, cause zero disruption, can easily fit in your pocket. For those who want to do nothing for a dog, a rock is for you. But if you want to put in any effort, Waffles is your guy. Ideally he would fit into a home where they are active. He’s a great walker and super social. So you can take him anywhere. Don’t even consider him or any dog if you fall into the category of someone fit for a pet rock. Gia ♥️ Gia & her Foster enjoy moments of celebration together every single day, but they have been enjoying these moments together for an entire year & Gia has never received a single adoption application. No one has EVER asked to meet Gia & given her the opportunity to show them all this beautiful JOY she has to share with a lucky person. Gia spends every day knowing she is loved & adored in her foster home. The moment you meet her it’s evident. But Gia deserves her forever person to build so many more moments of celebration with. Her foster shared that these are her favorite things about Gia: “She understands both English and Spanish and genuinely loves everyone she meets. Gia is the sweetest dog I’ve ever met, she gives full-body hugs and melts into head/face pets. She is always tolerant of a silly dress up photo shoot. He’s just a baby (a very, very heavy baby). For the love of god, someone adopt George today!! He’s so cute, cuddly, and with slow intros he becomes best buddies with dogs. He’s the perfect pal to chill and watch tv. Has zero separation anxiety, potty trained, and has NEVER once chewed up anything we own. We are working on his outside politeness as he gets a little over stimy on walks but idk this little dude has made a lot of progress in the almost year we’ve had him. He went from being completely shy and would flinch by touch, to immediately wanting to crawl on your lap.
