Tomorrow I’ll be releasing something that calls back to the first moments of Darkest Dungeons - an album written simply and in an almost fugue state in n between productive work during the week. I’ve been dealing with fatigue in surreal ways lately, and needed to feel the spark of creation. Other more complex things are waiting for me to write but I felt the call to do this. So look for this tomorrow once I give it one more moment to coalesce.

I wanted to share these photos and video clips taken by Ken Palmer from the video desk, as they show two of my favorite selections from the setlist, as well as some sense of scale of the venue from Saturday. Also - I have released the audio as a Bandcamp release with some slight audio mastering, as I feel it’s the best representation yet of the live vision of Darkest Dungeons.

Last night was easily the best live incarnation yet for Darkest Dungeons. From the space to the friends and the hosts and the amazing video and audio capture, this will go down as my most successful set yet. Photos here were taken by Nick Mellis, my son Iain, and stills from multicam video coordinated by the team along with amazing projection artistry by Ken Palmer. Audio capture by Karl Fury. Expect digital share for that soon as well. The show was a continuing catharsis of this outlet for me and my search for meaning and understanding through composition. I am coming up on 6 months since being diagnosed with cancer, and am now clinically cancer free but going through chemotherapy so each step I take is a fight to regain strength of mind and body, and continuing to perform is giving me the push to do all of those things and more. Thank you for continuing on this journey with me, I love you all, and there is so much more to discover. M.
