A note from @daringtoexplore , the director of @elultimotramo_film : “On the outskirts of Buenos Aires is Vencer Para Vivir, a remarkable rehabilitation center that you wouldn’t easily stumble upon. In 2022, I visited my cousin @lucasactor39 in Argentina, seeing him for the first time in almost a decade. He had just finished two years at Vencer Para Vivir recovering from addiction. Today, he lives a renewed, clean life. What I found at Vencer Para Vivir defied my expectations. It wasn’t a hospital-like facility, nor did it follow a traditional 12-step program. Instead, the center operates on four core pillars: love, understanding, dialogue, and dedication. Residents take on various roles and responsibilities, reshaping their habits as they prepare to reintegrate into society. For Lucas, this place wasn’t just a rehabilitation center. It was home. Inspired by his journey, we made this deeply personal short film. Shot on location in Argentina, the 17-minute film seeks to humanize those struggling with addiction and shed light on the realities of getting clean. The cousins (director @daringtoexplore and actor @lucasactor39 ) before and after shooting the short film EL ÚLTIMO TRAMO. It all began in 2022, when Dominick visited Lucas who had just spent two years in recovery at the Vencer para Vivir rehab center in Argentina. During that visit, Lucas shared an idea: to make a short film that tells the story of addiction and recovery, and the mental, familial, and emotional sacrifices it takes to heal. 🎉 Four weeks! On March 31, 2026, our international short film, El Último Tramo premieres on YouTube. Set in Buenos Aires, the film follows a recovered addict determined to repair his life and reconnect with his family as he returns to the rehabilitation center that once saved him. When a fellow patient runs away, he sets out to find him, hoping to bring him back before it’s too late. It’s a heartfelt story about second chances, community, and compassion— a culmination of more than four years of work. We can’t wait to share it! Keep an eye out all month long.
