I just love putting books backwards! Not very practical, you might say. But in fact, if your library is organised alphabetically, there is no problem at all! 1st 📸 @nicksmithphoto

A simple magnolia branch adding so much charm to the reception room in our beautiful Notting hill project. Did you know that magnolias are one of the oldest flowering plant species in world, with fossils dating back over 100 million years? 📸 @nicksmithphoto . 👯‍♀️ @ksenia.interiors

This piece of furniture looks very modern, doesn't it? But its origins are actually quite old. This is a conversation piece. Or a courting bench, a kissing bench, a vis-a-vis chair or a tet-a-tet chair. It originated in the 19th century, during the Victorian era, a perfect way to encourage conversation both with the person sitting next to you and with others across the room. The term 'tête-à-tête' literally means 'face to face', which is exactly how the sofa is designed - a lounge with opposite backs at each end. Dating in those days was quite buttoned up, so the tête-à-tête was ideal for romantic meetings (you could sit close to each other without ever touching!)😉 Please swipe to see some lovely examples. Salvador Dali designed his own tête-à-tête sofa in the 1930s when he collaborated with his friend Jean-Michel Frank , the great furniture designer and interior decorator of the time. Guess which one! The stunning conversation piece by @atelierslondon is the focal point of the reception area of our Notting Hill project. Our complement to the Victorian style of the building. The bespoke marble niche has completely elevated the look of this otherwise ordinary shower. What a perfect example of how small details can change the overall design of a space. By the way, can you believe that this stone is all the same type of marble? I was quite surprised. We sourced a unique Sayan marble from Siberia, known for its stunning variety of colors. While it posed some challenges during installation, it was also incredibly rewarding. A note to self, never overlook the impact of subtleties… . . .

Two doors in the same bedroom? Quite unusual, but very romantic if you think about it. Turning the bed around and adding the second doorway was a real space saver. It allowed us to put a king size bed and to leave enough walking space on each side. Not to forget the storage. A bult-in closet for him and a chest of drawers for her. And a huge fitted wardrobe in the corridor!

These bedroom doors are bespoke, 2.6 meters high, sliding and glazed. All in an aim to save room and create a light and airy look. An essential choice for this small apartment. Раздвижные двери выполнены на заказ из лиственницы. Нестандартная высота 2,6 м и остекление. Все это экономит пространство и добавляет воздушности, что очень важно для такой небольшой квартиры.

The rustic yet elegant aesthetic of this Moscow bedroom is enhanced by the pine wallpaper by @sandbergwallpaper , which was complemented by a bespoke headboard crafted from an antique wooden door.
