After an exciting year, I will be closing the programme I run at Rathbone Institute and will continue my research and curatorial engagement with Dada-Domain. An immaterial institution focusing on sharing artistic practices and building scholarship. However as my last project with @rathbone_institute , I will be supporting and presenting @kemkem ’s film “Come and speak to me about what you felt, 2021” during @minor.attractions . I am grateful to have worked with the artists: @oluogunnaike , @missy.hmb , @thirza_smith & @matprs1111 . And it was also a special feeling to create a community. Looking forward to creating more moments like this in the future. 💙🦋✨

I recently interviewed alumni of @new_curators about the institutes vision to diversify the art economy and how it fosters curatorial voices. Thank you to @tschabalalaself and Emily ✨ @elephantmagazine Link to interview: https://elephant.art/its-completely-blown-open-my-understanding-of-curatorial-practice-a-conversation-with-new-curators-alumni/

I interviewed @nabil.alkinani and @thedesignssuite for @dazed ‘Impossible’ Issue, talking about what it takes for a community to dream up a future with collective ownership and how we can be authors of our own future. Always love to @kaci0n for making this happen. ✨

WITNESSES: Against Our Vanishing Following the the next discussion that Giorno Poetry Systems will promote regarding Nan Goldin’s work as an invited curator at Artists Space, we felt the need to share some parts of the catalogue. Goldin strikes a clear message of positivity and warmth amidst the very turbulent year of 1989, and it also features powerfull texts by David Wojnarowicz and Cookie Miller and excellent artworks sometimes followed by the artists’ point of view on the AIDS epidemic context. Sunday, May 5 1:30pm at 222 Bowery, New York, NY NAN GOLDIN and ALEX FIALHO discuss Nan’s landmark exhibition Witnesses: Against Our Vanishing (Artists Space, New York, 1989) as part of the First Annual Conference about Artist-Curated Exhibitions. Introduced by DARÉ DADA.

Grateful to share ‘Your Presence Is a Present’ with @oluogunnaike & @constantinthun . Your Presence Is a Present is a provocation of permissibility. A question of complicity. A potentiality - where objects can exist to become one thing or another. It appears a lack of signage adds to the allure: Should we encounter these tools and objects on display and project their apparent value, or shall we seduce further attitudes? These objects are alive. They behave. However, they can also be active and even perform with someone’s complicity. 1. A vitrine filled with Constantin Thun’s belongings; maybe a portrait? - It might as well ponder the creation of content and value. 2. A wooden wishing well from the Hudson Valley region. - Found by Constantin Thun + Daré Dada. - Sourced with the help of Amy Linker. Thank you. 3. Olu Ogunnaike’s charcoal on mirrored steel are recognisable by their traces. - The nature of charcoal leaves impressions that are a reflection of their fleeting and nascent gestures. - These encounters with loved ones are understood as moments. Moments of being grounded. of love of comfort of warmth of presence
