My precious mom breathed her first breath of heaven on Friday, July 18. It was sure hard to say goodbye, but how thankful we are to have the peace and promise that she is with Jesus .. healed and whole. We will have a celebration of life service on August 2nd… obituary with details linked in bio.
They said yes!!!! What a week we had! 2 engagements! Dylan proposed to Alyssa on Tuesday and Micah proposed to Charlotte on Friday. We are so thrilled for the boys and so thankful for these beautiful gals to be added to our family! (Trevor edited one of the pics to add him and Melanie in - love it! Even though they were not here physically for the festivities they were able to FT both couples and be in on celebrations!) We had much to be thankful for this week indeed!
8 years ago today… October 13, 2016… was when it ALL began for Ethan and Ely (though Ely did not know it!). 🥰 This family picture was taken after we saw Dylan and Micah in their High School Theatre opening night performance of “Rock of Ages”… a show that Elyssabeth Pratt was also in as a freshman. Little did we know that Ethan (an 8th grader still in junior high) was already smitten… after seeing her in one show. The next night, Bob, Ethan, and I went to see the show again, but stopped for dinner at Fish City Grill beforehand. It was while sitting in that booth that Ethan shared with us that Ely had captured his eye, and he was already devising a plan for their future. He said once he got to high school the next year he would spend his freshman year getting to know her… then sophomore year he would get to be really good friends with her… then they could start dating his junior year. Well, lo and behold, that is exactly how it played out! His sophomore year they became great friends (were even cast in two different plays as boyfriend/girlfriend), and became “official” a few weeks into summer! And now here we are… with the big countdown to their wedding… just 97 days away! 💕
Happy Birthday to my best friend, my boo, my ride or die, the best dad to my boys, a mastering engineer extraordinaire, and my favorite photographer… a man who loves the Lord, lives life to the fullest, brings laughter into every day, and brings calm to the crazy. A day late in posting, but HAPPY 23rd BIRTHDAY (plus a day) to my Micah!! 💜 What an exciting year #22 was for him! It included an internship in Ozona, TX (don’t blink - you’ll miss it!) where he worked on a Wind Farm for Mortenson and lived in America’s Best Value Inn for 10 weeks… he graduated with a Mechanical Engineering Degree from Texas A&M in December (whoop!)… and he began his career as a Piping Engineer at Wood. So very proud of him and am exciting to see what year 23 has in store!! Love you so very much Micah!! 🤟🏻
