yesterday’s monday feels (and i’m someone who usually loves and is reenergized by mondays (fuck capitalism and that’s what makes us “hate” mondays)) but damn the world is burning down and rebuilding and i hope folks are resting and pausing when possible, it’s hard but i’m trying but hey, we’re all but mere mortals just surviving capitalism and colonialism y’know so while shit pops off in so many terrifying and devestating ways i hope we can hold onto some hope for the power of us people to revolt and rebuild 🫶🏽 #loveislandusa #capitalism #powertothepeople

one year ago today i moved back to the bay after almost 13 years in LA and i can’t believe everything that has happened, popped off, gone down, gone up, and zig zagged through my life since returning to my roots. but i am so fucking happy to be back here and it was a journey getting to this point. i had to move through some big ass mental and physical boulders and shit was not easy but ya girl is grateful. my moving day was emotionally turbulent and tried to take me down but bless my amazing friends that came through to lift my ass back up into the u-haul to then drive my life and cat across california from LA to the bay. the moment i landed back in the bay, stepped outta that damn cramped u-haul, and stepped foot onto the cement, i knew i was right where i was meant to be. i never would have guessed all that happened this past year would happen, ups and downs. i’m so grateful for my parents, family, friends, and my amazing partner for being by my side and letting me be by their side. i moved back for a million reasons and found a million more reasons to be grateful to be able to come back and not everyone is able to move back to their home whether it’s due to gentrification or g3n0cide (it’s all the same colonizing shit.) i feel extremely fortunate and try to practice as much gratitude to the communities and land in the bay every chance i get. anyway, getting off my soap box, i love you yay area. thanks for letting me back in. and LA, you’ll always have a piece of my heart and please take care of my friends and help them thrive and flourish out there please and thank you. 1: moving day about to drive from LA to the bay after crying 80 gallons of tears 2: first meal in the bay after driving from LA 3: last pic in my old apt on moving day 4: last night in my old apt 5: cute welcome sign by mom 6: lestat first day in new home 7: surviving day before moving day 8: last morning waking up in old apt 9 & 10: old street 11: ugh packing & lestat with janky sheet lol 12: lestat first morning in new home 13: returning uhaul and this came on and i almost cried i felt so welcomed back by KMEL 14: lestat getting the first view in new home

(montpellier 2/2) solo traveling is truly not for the faint of heart. while it was nice doing only what i wanted to do, i got serious decision making fatigue and frustrated cried like twice and kicked myself for not learning french before the trip. but ya girl ate good in montpellier, walked a lot, drank wine through a medieval village, napped, discovered “c’est beau la bourgeoisie” by discobitch at a wine bar as they closed up shop, and eventually made it back to paris for one quick night before flying my cute and tired ass home. also i ate some good ass japanese and mexican food in paris like damn their cuisine game is on point 🔥

(montpellier 1/2) my favorite city. bought and finished a book in the 4 days i spent here, never read something so fast. saw the biggest bee of my life and am still horrified and then got shit on by a bird right after and had to wear those pants for another week but i loved it all. where i stayed was 4 flights of hell but then met by the most gorgeous view and yes i did nap with those windows open. if i could go on that wine + home cooked meal tour once a week i would. i only took 1 lactaid on this leg of the trip for that creamy gnocchi and every bite of food, dairy, and sip of alcohol did not tear apart my stomach and because of that i officially believe thay america is a scam more than ever. thank you @adelinelassource for recommending this city to me and guiding me 🫶🏽

(barcelona 2/2) i spent 6 days in barcelona and i made new friends and saw art at the miró museum and found a bar at the top of a long ass staircase and walked a lot more in the city and even made my way early AF to the mountains to see a damn monastery. thank you barcelona 🙏🏽 tourism is truly tearing that gorgeous city apart and i hope my carbon footprint wasn’t too much and i hope the slumlords chill tf out and that anyone who does decide to visit can be respectful because the people i met were nice af and deserve better.
