This time it will be at @blackcircleindy on Friday January 30, 2026 and we're bringing in the high energy DJ/producer duo @forealism to make their Indianapolis debut. Congratulations to @tubbsthedrifter for completing his studies at The Dapper DJ Academy! I was really excited to work with Alex because he'd been such a huge supporter of not only me but the Indy EDM scene in general for a very long time. And now I can confidently say that he is well on his way on the journey from the audience to the stage. He already had a solid musical foundation so we mostly worked on mechanics and he was able to put it together quickly! With a very wide range in terms of musical taste and genres, he's already recorded and posted a house mix to SoundCloud. He's slated to play his debut set at flyyweight's Birthday Celebration show in a couple weeks and I'm very excited to see him perform at more shows this year!
Congratulations to @heyshaeli for completing her custom course at Dapper DJ Academy! When Shaeli first reached out to me about taking DJ lessons, she was looking for a structured plan with clear objectives and goals. She came into every session with pen and paper in hand and with a great attitude ready to work. I had the privilege of watching her start to put the building blocks together, see the light bulbs go off in real time, and become more and more confident behind the decks. She asked the right questions at the right times and was extremely receptive to feedback. The progress that shes made over the past few weeks is substantial. With a naturally great ear for music and a high level of self-accountability, I'm certain that she will accomplish anything that she sets her mind to in her music career.

An oldie but goodie, we're excited to announce that we've added the Pioneer CDJ-2000NXS2 to our equipment fleet effective immediately! We recognize that this model although a bit older, is still a very relevant and reliable piece of technology that is still commonly found in venues across the country. While it is certainly available for gig rentals, we will primarily be using it as an educational tool for our DJ students to prepare them for when they come across these out in the wild since there are some significant differences feature-wise between it and the CDJ-3000. Also a great option for home rentals to practice for a gig where you know that the 2000NXS2 will be in the booth.
Huge congratulations to @chefsully_ for successfully completing the Dapper DJ lesson program! Not only is he passionate and dedicated to improving his craft, he's an overall great guy and was a pleasure to teach. We're confident that he'll do well as he continues his musical journey!

We're very excited to announce the first ever Dapper Rave event: Open House! Sunday January 19th, 2025 2pm-6pm at Monsterz Inc. in Irvington.
Keeping our commitment to uplifting and supporting beginner and aspiring DJs within the Indianapolis EDM community, this FREE event is dedicated to assisting DJs of ALL skill levels by providing hands-on access to professional Pioneer CDJs, mixers, controllers, and software.
We'll also help with formatting USBs to be performance ready, answering all DJ related questions, and assisting with guiding aspiring and beginner DJs with a basic overview of the functionality of Pioneer equipment.
Please join us for this great opportunity to network within the Indianapolis DJ community and learn from one another. Refreshments will be provided. Bar will be open. 21+ for entry.
