In 2011 at
@ada.uferstudios , I presented ‘saying it’, a tiny solo where I spoke and repeated commercial slogans, danced around, and got all obsessed with talking and moving, as I used to do back in the day. I stayed in that obsession for quite a while, until I finally wore it out and immersed myself in more abstract, fuzzy, in-between worlds.
A few months ago, Gabi invited me to revisit saying it as part of ada19 - ada studio’s 19th birthday (!!). This beautiful invitation meant meeting a younger version of myself, which as you can imagine, is equally embarrassing, tender, awkward, and strangely cosy.
In the safe, experimental spirit of ada Studio, I’m so happy to share a 2025 version of that piece, now transformed into a bouncy dialogue with musician Daphna Keenan
@daphnaster , and with a new title: Even Older. We’ll be doing this on November 14 + 15 at ada studio, together with
@rike.flaemig @raisa.kroeger @mariawalser_ @akiles227 , celebrating 19 years of this place that’s been such an important home for me and so many other dance makers in this city.
