Design in service of others has always been at the heart of what we do. But coming up to 10 years, we realized we wanted our convictions to speak more firmly and bravely, as the world demanded more from design, more from us. We saw that Filipinos deserve and need better. Filipinos deserve futures with choices, where social protections, circular systems, and a valued and preserved culture are not just hopes, but attainable realities. All people should be able to have a good life, however they imagine it to be. We believe design can do something about this, most especially when itโ€™s done together. As we step into our new decade, we dare to dream and dream loudly for what is right. Works of Heart is now ๐——๐—ฎ๐—ฝ๐—ฎ๐˜ (should, must), a design studio for social good that uses design to bring us closer to what should be available to allโ€”a more joyful, just, equitable world. For us, Dapat is not only a name but a commitment, to pursue the futures we deserve through design. Learn more at www.dapat.studio

#NoviceAgendaโ€”Galing Luzon is now in PRINT! ๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ญโœจ The final chapter of Dapat Studioโ€™s (@dapat.studio ) Galing Probinsya trilogy has arrivedโ€”and itโ€™s one youโ€™ll want to hold onto. Galing Luzon brings together voices from across the region, tracing how creatives build, care for, and grow their communities through shared struggles, lived experiences, and collective hope. This issue features conversations with Lloyd Zapanta (@lloydiecat ) (Antipolo), Ja Amores (@esoiuqetsel ) (Baguio), and Onix Mendoza (@onixcoded ) of Astrolikha Collective (@astrolikhaofficial ) (Cavite), alongside an essay by Novice Creative & Managing Director Allen Esteban (@iamallenesteban ) (Nueva Vizcaya/Antipolo), plus a Creative Atlas mapping tambayans across Luzon. ๐Ÿ—บ๏ธ Galing Probinsya continues its mission of documenting design stories from across the archipelago, following Galing Visayas (2020) and Galing Mindanao (2024). More than a series of zines, these are documents of who we areโ€”rooted, regional, and deeply connected. Get a copy (or the bundle), collect stories, and support local creatives and the communities theyโ€™re building. Limited copies and discounted bundles are available. ๐Ÿ‘€ ๐Ÿ›’ www.shop.dapat.studio ๐ŸŒ โ€”โ€” Photos by @iamallenesteban #GalingLuzon #GalingProbinsya #DapatStudio KeepCreating

This Womenโ€™s Month, our managing director, Liz (@liezlcab ), reflects on what it means to be women-led, not only in our design practice but also in our work for and with women. Looking back on past projects, she holds space to celebrate womenโ€™s leadership while also recognizing the weight of the struggles that so often come with it. In closing, Liz turns to the women working in social impactโ€”the all-women teams, community leaders, quiet organizers, and founders building something from nothingโ€”and offers a strong reminder: Our presence in this space is not accidental, it is necessary. Womenโ€™s workโ€”our workโ€”is not peripheral. It is foundational. Astrolikha (@astrolikhaofficial ) founder Onix Mendoza (@onixcoded ) staunchly defends Caviteรฑo creatives and passionately speaks about the magic of community. In his ๐•ฒ๐–†๐–‘๐–Ž๐–“๐–Œ ๐•ท๐–š๐–Ÿ๐–”๐–“ interview, he expounds on why being from the province is not a disadvantage, but a perspective and a grounding into who you are and what has shaped you. In ๐•ฒ๐–†๐–‘๐–Ž๐–“๐–Œ ๐•ท๐–š๐–Ÿ๐–”๐–“, he reflects on why being so close to Manila is double-edged and how to carve out cultural relevance as a Rizaleรฑo. In this issueโ€™s op-ed, Allen Esteban (@iamallenesteban ) of Novice Magazine (@novicemagazineph ) writes about why itโ€™s important to take space. In tracing the story of Novice, he shares why he Keeps Creating and how that act alone becomes an insistence that probinsyano creativity matters. Peep snippets of his essay hereโ€”including an unpublished quoteโ€”or read the whole op-ed in ๐•ฒ๐–†๐–‘๐–Ž๐–“๐–Œ ๐•ท๐–š๐–Ÿ๐–”๐–“.
