miss magic  Looking back on this interview is pretty surreal! It was my first time at SXSW. First time playing a bunch of shows. First time in Texas. First time eating real BBQ. Probably first time being interviewed on camera. It was difficult for me to believe that anyone liked my stuff. From a young age I thought being a musician could only ever amount to being a side thing, because of financial constraints, so when people asked me what my intentions or aspirations were - I didn’t have an answer. I just wanted to make music that I liked. Then I got my first sync with a song called “Running” that I made on a cheap mic and laptop. With that money I quit my restaurant job, I started a label, I pressed my own vinyls. And now it’s 15 years later and I’m still doing the same thing. I think for most artists you don’t realize when you’ve “made it” because the goalposts always shift. You might not ever be commercially successful, or have millions of streams, or get signed to a major label (or even a major indie label for that matter). But if you’re able to somehow figure out a way to wake up every day and do what you love for a living, then you’ve already made it.  Thanks for following my journey, whatever stop you got on! My retrospective is out at midnight!

The Leshy of the forest amid solitude awaits: unlikely friendship yet unmade or friend to end his fate. Where do such beings vanish if no souls decide to gaze? Do they exist at all? Fear not or greatly, all sustain. For once the question is in thought each myth begins to summon and by reading this they manifest by reason of thy wondering. 🌲
