Quick update for our Butcher The Pig launch event on April 24:
To accommodate members of the team coming in from a project in Toronto, the staged reading will now begin at 8:30 PM instead of 8:00PM. Everything else remains the same - we’re excited to have you there and kick off this film. Thanks for your understanding, and we’ll see you soon!

REPOSTING WITH MORE INFO :D
This story didn’t start here.
It started years ago. Late nights on the computer, then workshops, rewrites, rehearsals, and a world premiere production that brought Butcher The Pig to life on stage.
Now, we’re taking it to the screen.
We’re filming this October — and we’re inviting you to be part of what comes next.
On April 24 at Theatre On King, we’re hosting the official fundraiser launch for the film, featuring a live staged reading of the play, performed by the original cast — the same actors you’ll see in the movie — followed by a presentation of our full plan for the feature.
I’ve worked on a lot of projects over the years, but this is the only one where I’ve ever felt confident enough in the material, the plan, and the team to ask people directly for support. I genuinely believe this will be a powerful Canadian film, with national and international impact and I want to invite you to take part in it.
There are a few ways you can support the project:
- Financial support (Even a small donation can make a world of difference for us.)
- Attend the launch event on April 24th in Peterborough
- Add your city to our interactive screening map so we know where to bring the film.
- Share the project with friends, family, and anyone who may want to support independent Canadian film.
If you’ve ever wanted to be part of a project like this — not as a spectator, but as someone who was there from the beginning — this is your moment. Visit butcherthepigfilm.com (link is also in Bio)
Please share this post and help us build the audience behind what we believe will be an unapologetically Canadian film unlike any other.
Be there at the beginning.

It started years ago. Late nights on the computer, then workshops, rewrites, rehearsals, and a world premiere production that brought Butcher The Pig to life on stage.
Since then, it hasn’t stopped evolving. We’ve continued developing the script, building the team, planning the production, and mapping out exactly how this becomes a feature film. Every step has been building toward this.
Now, we’re taking it to the screen.

I was fortunate enough to spend some quality time with Mr. Carradine on a movie. I was a fan since Revenge of the Nerds filmed in my home town of Tucson, Az. To meet him was simply put, super cool. What a great guy. So easy to talk to. So pleasant to be around. Such a kind, gentle man. We talked about love of movies, food and family.
The picture is with me and my son Bailey in Rice Lake, Ontario, Canada. Oct. 2025
Sending my love to his family. Heartbreaking.
Rest in peace, Bobby. Thanks for the steak.
I love when radio becomes cinema.
Here’s an excerpt from a recent episode, pairing our conversation with the films themselves.
What happens when you talk WITH images instead of just about them?

About Trent Film Society - A comedy-documentary tracing the Trent Film Society from a 1965 student letter, blending interviews, humour, and cinephilia to celebrate generations sustaining campus film culture together.
Towns End - In rural Ontario, a century-old family general store anchors community memory as owners and loyal locals confront change, survival, and the decision to close forever.
One Day in December - A short musical imagining the 1916 Quaker Oats fire through students’ eyes, where memory returns as ghosts, peace is vowed, and voices sing history alive.

I'm finally in the corporate grind! If you have the @history Channel, check out this episode of Mega Brands That Built America.
FunFact - @thatkevinsmith is one of the talking heads in this episode. I almost feel like we worked together...but not quite.
And not just cause I'm hoping for an Albert Chapman spin-off but @creamprodinc is great production company to work for:)
