Peace isn’t an easy thing to find…
It’s odd feeling peaceful in the middle of a sh*ty season in life. With the amount of doubt and fear that comes with something like moving into your first house, taking care of a baby, maintaining a healthy relationship with your spouse, most of the time you’re just wanting a break from the weight of it all. Then there are those little moments that make you feel a sense of peace, even for a few seconds, and those thoughts immediately following are the ones that’ll make or break.
I find myself often stressed just by some of my responsibilities but when my 16 month old daughter looks up at me and says “holdy holdy” (hold me), I can’t help but just rest in that moment when I pick her up as it reminds me that I’m a comfort zone for her. My perspective changes drastically because of the blessing that is my daughter.
I know the 16 month old baby analogy isn’t super universal… But there are no doubt little moments in our lives, no matter the circumstances, that allow your perspective to change if you just take a moment and breathe.

You know what stands between you and your creative output? The decision to risk your vulnerability.
I started out 10 years ago posting low quality, way under saturated, .jpg images that I thought were good. Yikes. But it’s one thing to acknowledge your content could be higher quality and decide to not risk your vulnerability by sharing it, which does not bode well for your progress as an artist, and it’s another thing to acknowledge your content could be higher quality and still decide to risk your vulnerability by sharing it - which can only increase your experience and progress.
All that aside… When I prepare for a shoot, I get there early and take photos of anything I think might help me dial in my settings for the actual photoshoot. I took these in preparation of an engagement, and I didn’t have any intention of posting these but as I was slapping my preset on these bad boys I thought the colors really stood out 🤌🏽 def will be printing some.

All I had was my A7iii and a cheap 35mm.
Had it for about 4 years now, and yes there are times when I wonder how a nice G-Master or even Sigma glass would compare. But what I’ve learned shooting with one lens over the years is that it’s not the gear that will make or break a photo, it’s the scene and the artist’s visualization. It seems odd shooting with a focal length outside of the norm in terms of architecture photography. Most of the time it’s either very wide or very compressed. I promise you can make do with what you have. If you don’t have the ideal gear that’s typical for a specific subject, just have fun with it. Art is mean to be enjoyable. Don’t think too much about what you don’t have or if the photo would be “better” otherwise.

Missing my girls more than ever right now.
My amazing wife insisted I take this time and essentially treat myself to a bit of fun with the boys. I’ve also used this time to reset and in that I’ve gained some new perspectives both with work and life. Interesting what a break can do for your productivity. Excited to get back to it soon 🙏🏽
