Tricky & The Cereal Killers | 35mm 🥣 Our Orchard Film were thrilled to have recently worked with @ulimeyeranim8 - scanning this wonderful 35mm short at 4k on our Lasergraphics ScanStation 🌟 Proof of concept. Set in 1990s London, the story follows a husband-and-wife animation team whose careers collapse overnight when new laws ban sugary ads targeting kids. Their mostbeloved creation, Tricky the Leprechaun, is left behind, along with their broken family. Decades later, their teenage granddaughter Charli finds Tricky’s old animation art in the attic. When she posts it on a popular short form video platform using AI tools, her viral meme accidentally opens a portal, unleashing the once-cute cereal mascots, now corrupted by AI, into the real world Credits: Animation - Ryan Fairbanks, Michael Schlingmann, Dean Roberts, Uli Meyer, Gary Dunn, Boris Hiestand, Ole Christian Loken, Panagiotis Rappas, Sandro Cleuzo Character Design - Uli Meyer, Gary Dunn, Craig Kellman Tricky cel painted by Lucie Julliat Live Action - Maya: Margaret Clunie Ben: Tom Ashley Charli: Jessica Prentice Tricky Rob Rackstraw Kids - Julius Meyer, Charlotte Isabell Parker, Kai Roberts Cinematographer - Markus Ilschner Composer - Lindsay Whright Casting - Tom Medcalf Sound designer - Giorgos Mikrogiannakis BagPipes - Lorne MacDougall Focus Puller - Alexandra Voikou 2nd AC - Esther Mitchell Gaffer - Henry Young, Nicolas Hambleton Sparks - Edmund Bishop, Oliver Young, Jordan White On-Set Art Direction - Daniela Topham Sound Recordist - Charlie Hinde, Olly Kent Sound Recordist Assistant - Ariya Beecham Special FX Supervisor & Props - Mark Bailey VFX clean-up - Olpamish Bazarbaev Hair & Make-Up -  Lisa Meyer, Emma Leon Runner - Anya Chung, Korede Alaran Stills Photographer - Niki Bruckner BTS - Seun Pinheiro Colourist - Garry Maddison Grade producer - Steve Faulmann Filmed on Kodak Vision 3 Film Stock & Processing - Kodak Lab London Film Scans by Orchard Film (part of the Digital Orchard Group) Special thanks to Paul Chung & Daniela Topham for the use of their home

TORNADO | 2-perf 35mm ‘It could be the Yorkshire Moors, it could be Cornwall, the Lake District, or the Highlands. I wanted to comment on the multicultural nature of early Britain; I wanted it to be a Britain full of all different kinds of people - a Japanese samurai, a French weightlifter, an African bandit. And I think if I’d been more specific about where it’s set, I might have lost a bit of that power’ - John Maclean, Director Scanned in 4K on Orchard Film’s Scanity HDR - by Dan Redrup, Timi Oladeji, and Harry Wilson Processed by partner @kodak_shootfilm Kodak Film Lab London 💭 Craig Parker, Producer for Film Services shared, ‘We were thrilled to work on John Maclean’s latest feature, Tornado. It’s a visually stunning film with incredible texture, tone and landscape’ ‘Our Orchard Film team scanned it in 4K on 2-perf 35mm using the Scanity HDR, and we’re incredibly proud of the results’ Get in touch today for your feature [email protected]
