As the plane descended into Nigeria, I couldn’t help but reflect on the whirlwind of experiences I had just been part of in Nairobi.
The training on Managing Conflict in the Newsroom was nothing short of transformative, equipping me with new perspectives on leadership, emotional intelligence, and the critical role of digital transformation in today’s media landscape.
I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the incredible team at the Aga Khan University Graduate School of Media and Communications and Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) Media Programme for Sub-Saharan Africa.
Your organization of this training was seamless, and the carefully curated sessions were both insightful and deeply impactful. The dedication and expertise of the facilitators made every moment a learning opportunity that I will carry with me into my career.
To my fellow participants, it was a privilege to learn alongside such a diverse and talented group of media professionals. The discussions we shared, the challenges we explored, and the solutions we discovered together were invaluable.
I believe we all left Nairobi not just better equipped to manage conflicts within our newsrooms but also with a deeper understanding of the broader media environment across the continent.
