Pitch Shift is back with another quality line-up at Bristol’s cellar of sound, Cosies: Pixl (Leeds - Loop Progression) Pixl delivers atmospheric old-school jungle, dark drum & bass, and jungle-funk, inspired by pioneers like LTJ Bukem and DJ Crystl. Known for rare, harder-edged throwback sets and the Freestyle Jungle & Drumfunk mixes, Pixl brings deep atmospherics, heavyweight breaks, and authentic rave energy — with regular appearances on Overshadow, Jungletrain and Kool FM. Lisa Matrix (Bristol) Lisa is an experienced DJ with a passion for jungle that dates back to the early 90s. Having started her journey mixing vinyl at free parties, she has spent years honing her craft across various platforms, including clubs, radio shows, and more. She is excited to play vinyl here in Bristol, marking her return to the scene! Happy New Year everyone! Thanks for coming out to our nights this last year. We do this for you and you make it special - all the support from near and far is much appreciated! We’re looking forward to our next night with Lubi J - only 1 week to go now! Based in Cardiff, Luby J started off mostly playing soulful/liquid dnb back in 2000, heavily influenced by Fabio’s liquid funk and artists like Calibre, Carlito and Addiction, Bukem and the EZ Rollers. In the latter part of the 00s she discovered her love for disco and funk after being educated by her friend and artist Hoxe on the history of breakbeats in jungle. This led to a handful of local residencies playing funk & disco over the course of the next few years. She then returned more prominently to playing jungle dnb around 2012 when Catapult Records (legendary record store in Cardiff) started putting on events in the unique Vaults venue. She’s now more immersed again in the heavier breaks and beats of jungle and rave, drawing from labels like Function, Rupture, Samurai, AKO and Repertoire. Luby J has held residencies and played at a number of different nights in Cardiff and over the bridge in the last 20 years, supporting a raft of the finest in the scene, including; Bukem, Calibre, Storm, Digital, Spirit, Total Science, Mampi Swift, Djinn, Roni Size, Break, Alley Cat, Randall, Klute and Doc Scott. After feeling the void of modern jungle and heavier dnb in the capital city, the year 2022 brought the start of putting on her own events with fellow DJ, Electra, and Headspace was born. After running several events in Cardiff they also now present a monthly show on Diff Radio, sharing all the Headspace flavours of rave, jungle and dnb with a spotlight feature on Welsh DJs and producers. During lockdown Lubi J started dabbling with production and had her first release in 2024 on Bristol label, Exstatic Records. Keep your ears to the group for more beats coming soon! Lubi J has also started spreading her love for disco again thanks to a residency at Cardiff’s Shake The Horse events. Catch one of her legendary b2b sets with Sister Sesh when you can!
