Had the privilege of being a panelist at @02academylagos COB event yesterday. The topic “The Next Chapter of Nigerian Creativity” brought about thoughtful conversations, honest perspectives, and a shared curiosity about where we’re headed as an industry. I also held an Introduction to Sound Design masterclass after the panel. Thankful for everyone who stayed back, listened, asked questions, and engaged. Grateful for the opportunity to contribute, share experiences, and learn alongside other creatives. One step at a time. #COB2025 #02Academy #NigerianCreativity #SoundDesign

Whenever we get a chance to tell a story, we always look for the strongest way to begin. The intro of any documentary is usually the point where, in less than 2 minutes, your audience decides if it’s going to be interested in the story, or not. Whether the subject matter is a person, an organization, or an event, our approach remains the same: “Omo, the intro gats slap oh”😂 Slide 1-2: We decided to highlight the already international reach of The Lagos International Theatre Festival despite it being its maiden edition. Theatre is a global language and Lagos speaks it beautifully. Slide 3-4: Highlighting the ambition and reasoning behind why a political figure made the moves he did regardless of what would be said about him felt like the perfect way to grab the attention of anybody watching, right off the bat. Slide 5-6: When you think of steel, you think of something hard, uncharacteristic, boring even. We decided to contrast that feeling by emotionally highlighting the use and presence of steel in our everyday lives and its indispensability in helping achieve dreams. Starting strong doesn’t necessarily mean starting loud. Slide 7-8: A peek into what Stage means to the Queen of Theatre and what the thought process behind her deciding to throw her hat into the ring was. If it’s not going to kill you, just do it. I’m privileged to work with the best team and literal story telling geniuses: @ronald_uzo just the best editor I know 😌 @anieosakwe and @actuallyjustyk the best story developers one can find😌 Sound design, dialogue edits, music done by yours truly.

Had the absolute pleasure of attending @seriesmania as part of the Nigerian delegation. It was an even bigger honor to represent @bapproduction on such a global stage. Definitely an experience I won’t forget. A huge highlight for me was connecting with fellow filmmakers, storytellers and industry professionals from all over the world. Grateful for the genuine connections and conversations. Here’s to building more bridges and telling powerful stories together! 🥂 #SeriesMania #BAPProductions #FilmFestival #SeriesManiaFestival

“I mean, filmmaking as a craft on its own is basically solving problems—challenges each day on set. It’s challenging in post-production and all that. But in the grand scheme of things, what are the major challenges apart from funding? I would say education because most of us in the industry—or most of the people on set or in post—are people who more or less learn on the job.“ - @dannybeatsofficial Swipe to read more. 📸 @aimee thirion #BellaNaija BellaNaija.com
