No one invites two string quartets at the same time; we are like ships passing in the night. So we were so happy to be able to invite our good friends from @quatuor_ebene yesterday. Obviously they sounded awesome in three Beethoven Quartets.

Yura Lee (@snokvit ) turned on her beast mode yesterday and performed all Ysaÿe‘s 6 solo sonatas for violin at our concert series @seriesof4 . An unbelievable musical achievement; she was like a shaman doing a ritual, a sorceress of music. Yura: Thank you for giving us this unbelievable difficult gift. The daring @danishquartet joined forces with the @dr.pigekoret to spotlight a millennium of music by women with a program that featured works by Caroline Shaw, Anna Thorvaldsdottir, Lotta Wennäkoski, and electronic musician Astrid Sonne alongside traditional tunes from Scandinavia and beyond. Also featured on the program was the New York premiere of David Lang’s “in wildness,” co-commissioned by Carnegie Hall. 📸: Richard Termine
