Four more projects from the first half of this year. A patchwork curtain for the kitchen, a rain hood!, this top made from a vintage shirt I found on the street, and five cutie foundation paper pieced moka pots for Valentine’s Day!
lol love posting for the first time this year, gonna work on catching up on documenting my projects bc I have in fact been sewing! My first make of the year was this cutie little travel jewelry organizer I made based on a picture I found on pinterest. She’s equipped with areas for all the things :) added the buttons to secure everything
Pretty much all of the makes I spent working on in December! Putting them all here and hoping to be better at posting my projects as I do them this year 💕🎉🪡🌸👗
Okay my turn to post craft trade! Made these comfy wide leg pants for Veronica :) used the same vintage pattern I’ve already made myself 2 pairs from that I absolutely love! Used a thrifted ikea duvet that I dyed some of the fabric from and it was my first time dyeing anything like this and it turned out surprisingly well. Although it was supposed to be charcoal gray oops but definitely not mad about purple! Also added some length to the shirt I made her for Christmas last year! In return she made me these awesome fingerless gloves at my request as I’ve been longing for some and also made me this cutie little bag with the extra yarn. The yarn I found in all the sewing supplies I got from my grandmother and I’ve wanted something made from it for a very long time! Very lucky to have a knitting friend willing to work with this apparently tricky yarn :) thank you ronch ❤️
Halloween! I successfully finished this couples costume in time for my Halloween festivities and I think they turned out amazing! I had made this joth (jean moth) costume a couple years ago but made some changes and added some embellishments this year. I changed the straps to be a black fabric to blend in with the turtleneck I planned to wear and added SO much detail to the back of the wings. I added lace around the circles on the wings, shiny buttons to the body, rows of dangling beads, a sparkly thread accent to some of the wing details, and rhinestones all over! The jamp (jean lamp) I made completely from scratch for Mason to wear. I had started with a thrifted lamp shade but quickly tore it apart and only used one metal ring as the base then made the shape I wanted using hot glue, chopsticks, and an embroidery hoop. Then added a cardboard base with a hole for a head and sewed up a sun hat shaped dome so that it would sit comfortably on head. Then adding the denim! Used lots of my denim scraps and planned out how the shade would look then used a combination of sewing/hot gluing to get them onto the lamp shade base. I also made a small joth to sit on the jamp shade, which is removable using snaps!
Overall, I am incredibly happy with how these turned out and I definitely plan to wear this costume again :)
Wore my me-made Collage Gather Top by @matchymatchysewingclub with the longer sleeve view option to the pumpkin patch last weekend! I made this top earlier this year and haven’t worn it too much but I liked styling it for this witchy look 🎃
Been working on this project for a couple weeks (well really I started making the blocks months ago but have done 95% of the work in the past couple of weeks) and I’m obsessed with it! It’s a new curtain for my bedroom and it’s been doing a great job keeping lots of light out. I’ve included some progress pics from making it here too. It’s made up of mostly traditional quilt blocks and I chose ones that were simpler since I made the entire thing on my serger! Once I got all my blocks I had to add in a 4th blue fabric for borders and used literally every single scrap I had of my original fabrics to make the side panels. I love love love the way the left side came out and also how I was able to get my name on the right side. #quiltcurtain
Made this little purple number for my good friend Elena! Used some leftover satin for most of the body and the most beautiful scrap I thrifted for the base! This is the first bag I’ve made my own strap for which worked out really well with 2 layers of batting inside. Last pic is me cosplaying what it would be like to keep it for myself because it’s just so darn cute!
I recently tested the Sassafras set by @_sadoe_ ! I ended up making my shorts a bit too big but I loved the way the reversible top came out! It felt that Sadie took a great deal of care with the feedback from testers to make a pattern that will work for every body. Looking forward to making another set with the final version of the pattern! #sassafrasset
Been wearing these me made pants a lot on my travels recently! They’re made from two linens bought at Quilted Straight in Port Gamble, WA. The pattern I thrifted and don’t know the name of ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ but I love them and the color block and patchwork pockets I added as well as my custom Dani tag on the back
This weekend I finally got to do some sewing for myself! Made this top from some thrifted knit fabric from @seattlerecreative_georgetown I cut pattern pieces loosely based off a tshirt I liked the fit of then serged her right on up! Also made this cutie commissioned onesie from the same fabric!
Last weeks block for the #folksamplersewalong planning on using most of the sampler blocks to make a curtain this summer! Sewed this guy up using only my serger since the seams will be exposed and I think it went pretty well! Was a little worried about being able to get my points to match up but no issues came up
