Little throwback of shooting the milkyway over Mt Assiniboine. Right before it got dark I spotted a small little pond that I thought would reflect the peaks and stars nicely, but I didn’t anticipate the clouds that would eventually roll in. Timing could not have worked out better, because not only did the milkyway line up perfectly with the peak of Mt Assiniboine, it was framed up perfectly between two clouds as well. Talk about great timing.

This mornings sunrise definitely had some potential but right before the show got interesting it sizzled out. The light pillar over the stadium is pretty cool though.

Happy to I had the opportunity to explore Reynisfjara beach on two different occasions a few years ago. As of last month this beach was absolutely decimated from an unlikely winter storm. The long open stretch of walkable black sand that reached all the way to the basalt columns is now gone. It’s underwater. Hope to return here some day but I’m sure the experience won’t be the same.
Snowed in a bit today so went through some old photos from a few trips over the past couple years that I never shared. This day was particularly overcast so most of the day up to this point was cruising Maligne Lake road looking for wildlife - mostly bears, moose and elk. No luck in spotting any wildlife but the luck changed very soon afterwards. Standing on the shoreline of Maligne Lake the clouds started to part just enough to reveal an absolute behemoth of a peak in the background. I really like the shot of the boat cruising the lake because it offers a little sense of scale of how big this mountain was. Every few minutes the clouds would part and reveal different little parts of the mountain that seemed like it was part of another world. Pretty magical day.
