A few pics I made @tohonochul the other day with my Bronica. I’ve been making rectangular pictures for so long, learning how to compose a square is a fun challenge.

Come to the opening of “Under the Sun: The Arizona School of Photography” tomorrow, Saturday, March 7th, 4-8 at Steinfeld Warehouse in Tucson!
I’ll be showing some never before seen work and some new prints of old favorites alongside 5 other amazing artists and friends who all got their MFAs from the University of Arizona.
From a quick hike at Sabino Canyon the other day. Getting used to my new to me 4x5. Hoping the compositions start coming together as naturally as they do with my 8x10 soon.
As I was finishing this shot up standing in the middle of the stream, a group of teenage boys came by. One of them stopped and took a picture of me with his phone. When I looked up he said “Yo, that shit looks nice, bro, sunset, trees and shit, hell yeah.” Kids can be cool.

Moving from mostly shooting 8x10 down to 4x5 has been feeling freeing without sacrificing my need for extreme sharpness. With that said, there's an indescribable difference to how I shoot with the different formats and I just feel so much more at home with the 8x10. But for now, 4x5 is scratching an itch no other formats are doing.
