People see the race⦠they donāt always see the recovery after it.
35°C ambient temps at Sebring and 55°C cockpit temps called for my first ice bath ever š„¶ Shoutout to @greg318 for holding me down so I couldnāt chicken out.
Whatās the longest you could last in here? Water was 4°Cā¦
We won the race on track⦠but then it was stripped away because of⦠Netcode? š¤·š½āāļøš¤£
On the final safety car restart, we made an aggressive move for the lead and crossed the line first on track. Shortly after the overtake, we were issued a 10 second penalty for what Race Control deemed to be an illegal overtake.
The reason Iām posting all of these angles is because I truly believe the footage tells a different story.
From every onboard and replay weāve reviewed, racing room was given throughout the maneuver. There was no contact between the cars at any point during the pass. The outside car was positioned on the dirty side of the track and out in the marbles on corner exit, which ultimately caused the understeer that carried them off the track.
Thatās an important distinction.
Running out of grip on the outside line is very different from being forced off the circuit through contact or lack of space.
Without multiple onboard angles or conclusive evidence, a 10 second penalty was issued during the race that ultimately changed the outcome.
Officials have an incredibly difficult job and decisions happen fast in motorsport, but when a race win is decided this way, I think itās fair to open the discussion and let people judge for themselves.
Watch the clips.
Look at the space between the cars.
Make your own call.
Ultimately, Iām super disappointed that @bgw_racing had his first big win taken from him and @tr3racing lost out on another series victory. That makes it even more frustrating.
This is just motivation to push that much harder in Atlanta. š¤
How I pack my bags for a race weekend.
I pack my race gear and a few casual Moradnessļæ¼ pieces into my @dbjourney Ramverk Pro Carry-Onļæ¼, then threw my helmet, iPad, headphones, sunglasses, watch roll and all the random travel essentials into the helmet bag and call it a day.
When you travel almost every week, you realize pretty quickly how much time gets wasted waiting around for checked luggage. At this point I just want to land, take my bags and go straight to the track.
So whatās everyone saying⦠team carry-on only or team checked luggage? š
Spent a ton of time dialing in my settings on the Conspit ARES Platinum to get it feeling as close to the real car as possible.
This video breaks down exactly how I built my setup, what I changed, and why these settings work so well for me both in sim racing and real-world driver training.
You can now switch to and apply my setup directly in the Pro Drivers preset section with one click.
One important thing to note:For safety reasons, all Pro Driver presets are set to 10Nm by default. If you want the full intended experience of my setup, make sure to manually increase the wheel base output to 20Nm.
Let me know in the comments if you try it š
Thanks to @tr3racing for a very fast race car, and great driving by @bgw_racing . It makes me very excited for the rest of the season to see the package we have with team and driver.
We were definitely hit with some bad luck when it counted, but weāll bounce back in Sebring. Regardless of the result (P10), it was a very fun weekend and Iām so happy with my new home and racing family.
The 3rd pic was posted in my discord server and I thought it was too funny not to share.
š Thanks to everybody who took the time out of their day to wish me a happy birthday. I had a great day at the race track with my racing family. Canāt wait to be back home with my girls to have a bit more cake š.
